Color: Bass Guitar

Features

  • Lucite Body: Made of acrylic, which gives the electric bass guitar certain cosmetic aspects that make it quite attractive on stage. On a dark night, the stage lights reflect off the surface as if it was a mirror. The body is see-through and obvious that it looks great in a live setting, but everyone knows theres a lot more to guitar beauty than meets the eye.
  • Graphite Nut: Graphite is self-lubricating and is a perfect solution for guitar players who use a lot of the tremolo bar in their playing or have a hard time keeping the guitar in tune. The self-lubricating feature will allow the strings to slide over the nut with less friction, reducing tuning issues and hang-ups.
  • 18:1 Gear Ratio Tuning Keys: The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability, and the finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.
  • WSC Wrap around Bridge: The advantage of fixed bridges is that they don't require any kind of setup. This makes it extremely easy when changing strings because you don't need to adjust anything besides tuning the guitar. Also, Wrap-around bridges combine the tail-piece and bridge into a single piece, which adds some bite and transfers resonance to the guitar body quite well.

  • a new favorite but it took a while to get there!!
full disclosure: i originally posted a review expressing my disappointment. after a few weeks, i think i have a better outlook and more developed opinion, lol. so, conceptually (and from a comfort standpoint) this thing is *really* rad! the body is about the thickness of an sg, but it has weight-relieved les paul weight for sure! out of the box, i was pleasantly surprised with how shiny it was! not a scratch on there. the frets were a little rough, but otherwise it seemed fine. then came the headaches. so, here’s the thing; replace everything on there if you want it to play more than just “okay” and be reliable enough to treat as a gigging guitar. i quickly noticed how janky the tuners and bridge were. the tuners were really weak. like, “ten turns to get there” weak because they just had so much give. the bridge was my main problem. the stud holes were drilled way too big—mine actually had a wooden spacer crammed in there lol—and they would creep out of the holes under string tension making the guitar sound dead. (my fix? epoxy! it’s clear anyway, and what else was i supposed to do? either way, it worked but was a *massive* red flag because there are so few ways to fill and re-drill acrylic and make it look okay.) the bridge also was victim to some of the worst bridge tilt i’ve ever seen. it was like there was a 1/32-1/16 gap between the post heads and the bridge. it was insane. i ended up putting the usual cts pot and duncan custom i prefer in there. (i have this wired with one volume to a jack and it sounds insanely good.) i also spent money on some new hardware (wilkinson because at this point i was already $500 deep on a $380 guitar. oh well. the wraparound i got from wilkinson was pretty good! the tuners not so much.) and did a lot of polishing to the frets. here’s the caveat: i’m a guitar tech, and i really don’t mind doing the work. that said, this thing had a lot of problems out of the box. with all the upgrades, i would say this thing is solid and easily competes (or outdoes depending on the day) my les paul custom that i bought this as a cheap backup for. the sustain is unreal, and it’s so damn loud!! buyer beware though, quality seems to be hit or miss. all in all, i was disappointed but not surprised at first. would i take this on the road? maybe? is this a solid guitar for home use? absolutely. i must have got a dud, and literally spent something like 5 hours on day one diagnosing and resolving the many problems it came with. i would have easily payed an extra $200 - $300 if it had come with better hardware and more attention to detail. it’s crazy that this thing is under $400 because, after some tweaks, it punches way above its weight and really should/could cost more with better QC. ... show more

  • Great product for the money
Style: Electric Bass Guitar Color: Clear
Absolutely no complaints. It's a really solid player, right out of the box. All I did was tune the thing. I feel it's maybe a little underpriced, for what you get.

  • Bargain acrylic bass
Style: Electric Bass Guitar Color: Clear
I've switched to bass recently and have always wanted an acrylic body instrument so this was an affordable choice. The bass came wrapped in a foam sheet taped inside of a polystyrene box inside of a cardboard box. The whole thing must have been dropped in transit because the polystyrene box was broken in multiple pieces and there was a hole in the cardboard and poly over the knobs but nothing was bent or broken. The bass was unplayable out of the box there was too much tension on the truss rod and there was fret buzz on all strings from the 1st to 8th frets. I was able to release the tension and tune it up. The actual acrylic body is finished pretty well, clear not hazy and polished smooth. The problems lay in the finishing on the neck and the quality of the electronics and hardware. The bass is totally functional, but there's lots of scratches from sand paper on the back of the neck as well as poorly cut and sharp frets on the treble side from the 15th fret to the 24th. The fret ends dug into my hand when I grabbed the bass by the neck to set it down so that will have to be addressed. The pots are your standard cheap fair but they turn smoothly and without noise right now. The pickup is adequate but it's also pretty cheap. Doesn't seem to be potted all I see is some kind of epoxy on the ends of the magnets but I may be wrong. The strap locks are copies and they seem kind of flimsy but should get the job done. I was surprised that the pick guard was actually made of wood, it looks like rosewood but I could be wrong. All in all I think it's a good platform, sure there were some corners cut in finishing but won't be too expensive to fix if you're uncomfortable doing it yourself. ... show more

  • Pretty good DA knockoff
Bought this guitar after seeing it on amazon for a year or so. It's actually not all that bad for the most part but the one I got had a bad set of straplocks and a high 19th fret on the treble side that pretty much made the guitar unplayable in that part of the neck. Fortunately, I have years of experience doing fret jobs, so after about $175 worth of work leveling, crowning & polishing the frets, the guitar neck was good to go. The fret ends were actually pretty good out of the box but I did round them off a bit. It has a nice feeling roundish neck, with a scarf joint to accomplish the headstock tilt. Truss rod needed no adjustment, with a ruler-flat fretboard. Electronics are pretty cheap and could use an upgrade for serious long-term stage or touring reliability. Will probably end up swapping out pickup/pots eventually for something a little more heavy duty and better sounding. Knockoff cheap chinese straplocks do not work properly (one of the strap locks will not fully engage because either the lock is too tight or the button itself is too large), and will have to be replaced. Bottom line, it's a good deal for under $400 and I would have given 5 stars if not for the fret work I had to do and the non functional strap buttons. I just didn't want to bother with shipping it back. ... show more
