I have installed a few accessories on my vehicle before so I am familiar where the fuse box is, vehicle firewall wire passthrough and I have the ramps so I can crawl underneath the body to fish the wire. I am no expert so after reviewing their video and watching a couple of others, I was able to make sense of everything to the best of my ability. In total, the install job took me about 3.5 hours (I hardwired the unit into vehicle power) plus an additional couple of hours doing my research and testing and learning how the unit works on the bench. The instructions are there on how to operate the unit and a parts list, but by no means, is there an "install" manual, which I understand is not something they can provide as every vehicle is different (the cigarette adapter can remove a lot of apprehension to the install as that makes the install more straight forward). My van has just cab windows, so I am super excited to have this unit installed. I took a couple of dry runs of hooking up my trailer and I was able to pretty much nail it the second time now that I have the perspective figured out. It will also be really nice to have this additional visibility because larger vehicles without windows adds an additional element of risk when maneuvering them. I am confident that this unit will assist in lowering that risk. The picture quality is acceptable for it's use and price and will get the job done. Just don't expect HD TV quality. The camera/bracket is metal so it's solid and I don't expect any problems with it breaking or anything like that. Hard to beat for the price from what I can tell! I am glad I took the extra effort with a wired system so I don't have to worry about wireless issues. However, wireless systems seems like they are working out for some. ... show more

I have given up on wireless backup cameras as either they never worked or stopped working after a relatively short period. I purchased this wired system and so far have been very pleased with its performance. Installation was relatively easy on our 2013 Elantra GLS. I drilled a hole in the plastic plate that covers the hole where a factory installed camera would be, fed the camera cable through the hole, and sealed with silicone sealant. Snaking the cable to the dash was easy. Still trying to decide on the best location for the monitor as the Elantra does not offer any flat surfaces to mount on where the monitor does not obstruct something. Think I will place it in front of the tachometer but need to find a way to mount it. Currently it is on the center console. Picture is clear, day and night. Lines showing path of car are useful. Connection is rock solid. I have also attached a second camera, an AMTIFO H19 , on the front. It also works well but i needed an adapter to connect the 4 pin connector on this system to the RCA connector on the H19. I also reviewed that H19 on Amazon. Would recommend this system to those looking for a wired backup camera. Works very well, easy install, and good value. ... show more

Tried the easy route with a wireless camera which had a decent view...when it worked. It went on and off constantly even though the receiver was in clear view of the transmitter. Stopped working completely after a yr. So when I saw this bargain camera, I was hesitant but a tight budget is what I have. I was pleased at first glance, quality construction, good thick cables and plenty of it. Very easy to mount in different ways, you can even request a windshield mount, additional camera or dashcam free of charge! The picture is far superior to the wireless one I had and allows you to view vertically or horizontally as well as a split screen if you add a second camera. I bought this camera to use to help me back up and attach my SUV to my camping trailer. And - with this little camera I was able to do it alone on my first try! As a 50 ish year old woman this is no easy task- but with the camera it was really easy. The picture is very crisp and it stays clear when driving -even though I just hooked it up quickly with zip ties attached to my license plate. I also used the included 50 foot cord to string under my 21 foot trailer and I Attached the camera to the trailer bumper- and could see all the cars behind me on the highway - no more blind spots! Works as described. Easy to install. The 150 degree range is better than wider angles I have had on previous cameras. When moving, the view is a little choppy. But good value for the price.

The attention to detail with cords, mounting brackets, camera and display exceeded my expectations. Instructions for setup are easy to follow. The camera and display is high quality and durable. Aesthetically the unit is very pleasing. Images are extremely clear and the display unit is simple to use. They didn't overcomplicate the menu like so many tech items today. I like not having to pull out the manual every time I want to change a setting. This is a real bonus. I was able to set this up in 20 minutes and that includes mounting the bracket!
