  • Great camera!
The LeeKooLuu camera and video monitor delivers impressive results at a reasonable cost. It ensures accurate colors, sharp images, and a flicker-free experience. With a high refresh rate, it maintains smooth visuals even at high speeds. Clear night-time images are facilitated by infrared LEDs. Installation is relatively straightforward. In my experience, I would recommend it to those seeking a camera system with an excellent price/performance ratio. ... show more

  • LeeKooLuu LK3 installed as a Backup Camera with Rear View HD Monitor Kit
LeeKooLuu did a great job in putting together the LK3 kit. Everything I would need came in the kit (and a few extras for options). So far, I really like this system. It was very price competitive for the performance specifications. It has all the features I was looking for in a backup camera kit. The instruction pamphlet is reasonable; but there are a number of YouTube videos done by LeeKooLuu that gave me more knowledge and the confidence to proceed. The pamphlet shows a few ways to wire the system. It can be always on, on with the ignition, or (my preferred way) when reverse is engaged. The camera appears to be well waterproof. That’s one of the “must have” components in my search for a system. I’ve seen some cameras that have shielding; but this device meets the IP69 standard. IP69K enclosures protect electronics from high pressure jet wash and steam cleaning. That’s important when you wash your vehicle. You can control the system on/off by switching power or by a button on the monitor. It depends on where you tap into the vehicle power supply. I elected to have it work as a reverse gear-initiated backup camera. I was putting the LK3 on my pickup truck so I could get a better feel of where the rear end is located relative to the surroundings. It’s a working vehicle, not my primary mode of transportation. I mounted the camera over the rear license plate and tested the system before full installation. The 4.3” 1080p LCD monitor worked beautifully producing a bright, clear picture. If you want to change the picture, the monitor has controls for contrast, brightness, and tint. See the world the way you want. I played with the adjustable Parking Grid Line system on the monitor to adjust the lines while I was at the back of the vehicle. That gave me an indication of how they would function when in use. Now began hard part: how to route the wiring from the tailgate up to the cab. This was definitely the most difficult part of installation. I followed existing wires and harnesses along the frame to the cab. I didn’t have to drill a hole to route the wires internally. I found a pass-through plug that I sent the wires through. Once in the cab, it was a simple matter of removing interior trim to route the wires. Thanks to LeeKooLuu for providing sufficient wire to complete the routing comfortably. I still have enough wire on the monitor end to place it where I want and enough on the camera/power end to change power supply, should I want. I used zip ties, electrical tape, and rubber grommets (not in the kit, but I’m compulsive). The tape was for wire covering anywhere I though the wires would rub metal and the grommets for pass-throughs on the frame. The most challenging part had nothing to do with the LK3 kit. It was finding the Hot and Neutral wires on my reverse light. Mine has a non-standard wiring (i.e., the wires were not the colors they should be.) Having my wife at the wheel and a multimeter in my hand at the tail/reverse light solved the problem quickly. I used a military wiring tap instead of the supplied T-taps and sealed the tail light unit back up. Everything worked just as promised. The 4.3” monitor turns on when I put the truck in reverse. All that is left is for me to decide where to mount the monitor. LeeKooLuu provides multiple options for mounting as well, dash or window mount. Great work LeeKooLuu. ... show more

  • Really Good (Edited Review 10/15/2023)
This is a great backup camera for the price. It is simple to install and does it's job well. It comes with the bracket which I easily screwed on to my license plate frame. I then ran the wire that connects to the monitor underneath the trunk lid liner, down behind the back seat. Then I continued to snake the wire under the plastic pieces along the border of the door and up to the front dash board. The electrical wire was easy to connect to the lightbulb, I didn't even use the provided red clips. I just inserted the wires + and - into the light bulb and taped it securely with electrical tape. I tested everything and it works perfectly. The image is nice and clear, the parking lines can be adjusted as well as the camera; it swivels up and down. I like that as soon as I put the shifter into reverse, the camera turns on and I am able to see the view behind my car. It even has LED lights to illuminate the area behind when it's dark, such as nighttime. So, for less than $45, I have modernized my 2008 Honda Accord a little bit. (Edited portion of the review below) The company Leekooluu has not honored their promise of an Amazon gift card to me, for writing a favorable review. After many attempts contacting them via email, they have not responded. So, as for the company, they lose 4 stars for customer support. ... show more

  • Great Add-On Backup Camera for any Vehicle
My car didn't come with a backup camera and the thought of adding a new stereo unit to add a backup camera didn't sound fun. I looked at wireless backup cameras and I felt there may be a disconnect in signal quality, besides the camera has be powered no matter what, so there is no completely wireless setup that is small and compact. this camera I found to be quite easy to operate and install (generally) into my car. The kit is packaged nicely in a small box, the screen is protected with clear film, all the wiring required, and a stand that can be mounted on the dash or windshield giving user options, and instructions with link to YouTube video to see install and connection setup. The best part of this setup is the two methods to wire the device. It has two options to power the camera: through 12VDC plug (manual ON/OFF) or hardwire to the backup lights (auto ON/OFF) of your vehicle. I didn't feel like having wiring floating in the center console so I hardwired it to my backup lights. I did a dry run with the trunk and access from back seat open to see how well it works and it works really well. the screen allows the backup lines to be shifted based on the width and height of the vehicle, allowing for a more custom view. the camera has a bracket built in to mount to license plates screws, making it easier. Though my car is a compact and found I can't angle the camera any further downward, I have a foot of clearance between the bumper and where the RED marks end on the camera. If the camera was designed to fit the electronics in a narrower case, it would be even better but no complaints here, less chance of hitting stuff with my car when reversing. The quality of the camera is great and the backup camera has 6 additional white LEDs giving more light in the back. there is also an extra plus for the monitor it comes with. It has a metal plate on the back of it. I purchased a magnet mount for the dash and now can switch between the backup camera and my cell phone when needed. As for the install, that was a bit tricky as a whole must be cut in the trunk to run the cables or if you are lucky find an opening. I was able to find an opening and simply ran the cables along the cable harness of the car. I used the T-splitters that came in the box, it killed my backup light for the one side. I removed them and was able to tuck the power cables (+/-) into the backup cable harness (wiring was thin enough). I used some liquid electrical tape to hold them in place and done. I ran the cable down and around to the passenger side of the front dash as the cable on the monitor is on the right side. The picture isn't as good now when compared to the straight shot down the middle of the car, i figure there is something causing interference but that is on me not the camera, if I ran the cable another way it may go away but still looks very for the 20 seconds its used for. The actual cable connections are thin but solid and marked on each cable connector side to ensure its aligned properly when connected. the connectors are keys so there is no reversing the connecting. I've had it for about 3 months and love it. I actually bought another one for my dads SUV, which is also older. Just wondering how long it will operate and how it will handle being in the colder temps and snow. Only time will tell. ... show more
