The SereneLife portable hiking mattress I am fan of! This product shipped well. There was minimal packing and no weird chemical like odors or smells. Included with the mattress pad is a drawstring type storage bag and a patching kit. It doesn't self-inflate but does inflate by mouth quickly! It took about a minute and half to blow up both the pillow section and the main section. When fully blown up it measures 75" x 26". It is very comfortable to lay atop. The ridges are quite comfortable You don't sink to the ground. I'm five foot two inches tall and my husband is five foot nine inches and it accommodates both our heights and average weights I consider the built-in-pillow a great addition as it allows for me to not have to bring one separately when packing all my camping gear. The material is light-weight yet strong. It is easy to wipe off if and when it gets dusty and dirty from normal usage. I really like that when not inflated the sleep pad is very compact and portable. The light weightiness of the pad at 1.21lbs is very favorable! And the fact it deflates just as quick if not quicker when you are ready to put it away is a total win. It's space saving when loading the car and is also small enough to bring along if you are hiking to a more remote location. It is great for camping but not just limited to that. Bought this for my 8 year old for camping. It’s quite long but nothing wrong with that, a very tall person could use it. She loves it and thinks it is very comfy. It does not inflate itself however, but she has no problem blowing it up her self it only takes about 20 breaths. Very compact and light weight I may get one for hiking for myself. ... show more

I don't often leave reviews, but I was put in a pretty rough spot from this pad. Just for reference, Im 170 lbs and do not pack sharp objects near my pad. Each year I go on a river getaway with a group of friends. We canoe the river and camp out for 4 nights. Obviously that can be pretty tiring and having a good nights sleep is very important. Last year, I needed to get a new pad and decided on this one to save some money. Shipping was fast and the pad was nice. I actually liked it quite a bit for the price. That year we had a rash of bad storms before we even got started. We ended up only getting two nights out before things became dangerous and we had to knix the trip. Fast forward to this year. I tested all my gear prior to the trip to make sure we were good. Night one, I got a puncture. We were pretty close to the river so I was in some sandy dirt. No puncture in the mat or tent, just the pad along a seem. I got zero sleep that night and got a patch on it in the morning, night 2, same issue only this time in another place. The hole was just a pinhole that took forever to find,but was enough to ruin another nights sleep. Got another patch applied and hoped for the best. Night 3 I woke up deflated again. I didnt find another hole, and it could have been that one of the patches was just failing, but the every night I slept with zero padding on that trip. TL;DR: This pad only made it through 2 nights before failing and then got holes along the seem in back to back nights. I dont know if I got a lemon or if its just really poor quality, but I would not recommend. ... show more

UPDATE: Unfortunately, even though I loved sleeping on this pad I ended up having to return it. The inflation valves were placed on the bottom of the sleeping pad and ended up scratching into the bottom of my tent. I considered turning the pad over but because the valve is in the center of the pad, I was concerned it would tear up my sleeping bag. I bought three sleeping pads so I could find one that would work. This sleeping pad was by far the most comfortable of the bunch. Pillow: The pillow and pad have separate valves so the firmness of the pillow can be changed without letting out all the air in the pad. One of the pads I tried did not have this feature and it made for a painful night. The pillow on this sleeping pad is at a great height that is very comfortable. For reference, I prefer a soft down pillow. The raised edges are great for keeping your head centered or for propping your head up a bit. Pad: The pad is very high. Even sleeping on my side, my hip never touched the ground (I’m about 6’ and 200lbs). The baffles are very comfortable. I slept better on this sleeping pad than I do on most hotel beds. The raised sides kept me in the middle of the pad even when I would roll to my side and stomach through the night. They were also really useful and comfortable to lift my leg or arm up a bit. Material: The material used in this pad is smooth but not slippery. It feels great to the touch and I’m looking forward to sleeping on it without a sleeping bag in summer. Cold: So far, I’ve got this pad down to 45F and been toasty warm. I was sleeping in a 3.5 season tent with a 30F down sleeping bag with pants and a long sleeve shirt. For the money, I can’t imagine a better sleeping pad. The pad came with a stuff sack and repair kit. The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t come with an air pump bag. I ended up purchasing the Overmont 60L Ultralight Air Pump which works great with this pad (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BRWWHKG/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_i_XQnBFbBRH677Q). Also, I ordered two orange pads at different times and there is a noticeable difference in the color. ... show more

This is NOT self inflating. But it inflates quickly with 10+/-breaths. It is lightweight. I used it on a long weekend backpacking trip. It does not insulate against cold and it is very slippery. I haven’t taken it camping yet, but after inflating it and testing it out at home I have to say this is very comfortable. It only takes about 10-15 breaths to inflate which is nice. The side bolsters are awesome, as it really helps keep me centered and not falling off the edges. It’s very lightweight and small when rolled up too.     • It's about the equivalent of a dollar store air mattress

First off, the title is one of the cons of this mattress. By self inflating, they mean you inflate it yourself, which is not the definition of self inflating. Ok, no big deal, blow it up, but it's thickness and quality is on par with a regular pool inflatable air mattress. But a pool air mattress is thicker when inflated, so you probably wouldn't touch the ground through it. This is not very thick when inflated, and it's easy for your body to touch parts of the ground, providing no padding. The pros, it rolls up tiny and fits in the supplied carry sack. The air valves on it do offer a quick way to deflate, and are easy to use for inflating. If the price of this was on par with a cheap air mattress, I still would probably go with the air mattress, because it is thicker. Mine didn't leak air overnight, and I do like the little bag it came in, so I rate it 2 stars. But this is probably one of my biggest let downs for things I've bought on Amazon. I'm not really a picky person or expect too much when buying cheap things online, but when I put this in my tent, I almost just ran down to a Dollar General to pick up a cheapie air mattress to sleep on. ... show more

This my third mattress in this style. Took 25 breath for me to blow up. Deflates in seconds. The one way valve is excellent. Fits inside my sleeping bag (blow it up while in the bag...much easier, lol. The air pillow (blows up seperate) is a nice touch and i'm glad it inflates seperatly in case I don't want to use the pillow. I am 20 lbs overweight and my shoulders/hips are not uncomfortable, i can sleep on this well. ... show more
