Price is right for a 200 amp MIG… no doubt about that. There’s a fairly good amount of adjustments that can be made to dial in a weld, half of which I understand and half I don’t. The manual is no help here, but the internet is a decent resource. The fit and finish, build quality of the machine itself, included features, and supported spools and modes makes this welder an excellent value. I’ve tested flux core MIG and 100% co2 MAG. Power for the torch is routed through the machine and back out, and there are clear indications to reverse polarity for flux core wire. Flux core welds went as expected on thicker steel, with an average amount of splatter but solid results. 100% co2 worked better than I assumed, with less spatter than I’ve achieved in the past. Using synergetic mode was far better than my ability to dial in with co2, likely because I just barely know what I’m doing… I’m sure professional welders can achieve even better results. This machine is also compatible with stick welding (electrode included) and spool guns (not included). While I’m anxious to try aluminum welding, I don’t have argon or a spool gun. There’s an alternative method of using a teflon sleeve (included), but that means nothing to me. I am however familiar enough with stick welding to tell the included electrode is terrible. The option is there and that’s really nice. I’m unlikely to need it, but making a copper clamp should have been the easiest part of manufacturing this machine and is by far the worst manufactured part of it. I’m hoping I can buy a better electrode somewhere if I ever need to stick weld… because the included one feels unsafe. The electrode clamp only has copper on one side, which will likely limit the performance. Worse, the jaws dont appear to hold a stick securely: the jaws are angled when closed and the rear stick position on the electrode is a good 2mm from the opposite jaw when fully closed. The bottom jaw isn’t imprinted with a welding stick cutout. The front of the electrode jaws are offset so much it looks like it won’t even hold a stick in the forward position. All this makes me nervous that a stick will fail to arc or… you know… fall off the electrode. Can’t beat it for MIG for the price. 110 and 220 operation, large easy to read screen, lots of options- flux and gas support, various spool compatibility, and many possible adjustments. Don’t buy it for the stick features alone, and plan on replacing the electrode if you need this feature.

This is a very impressive and well built welder designed for most everyone that needs welding occasionally. It can handle Aluminum MIG/Gas MAG/Gasless Flux Core MIG/Gas MIG/Spot MIG/Spool Gun Compatible/Lift TIG/Stick Welding, Multi process Welding Machine. But the main things for me, essentially just starting out welding, are Gasless Flux Core welding and Stick Welding. That gets you up and running the fastest if you are just learning how to weld. If you want to use the other features, such as Aluminum welding, you would need to purchase a separate spool gun or for Lift TIG you would also need a special gun for that; the (Lift TIG gun and spool gun are not included, WP-17V-35-50, LBT150). And obviously if you wanted to use this with MIG Gas, you would need to get a special tank of gas for that too. But this allows you to get going quickly, with the options of expanding what you can do with different welding types in the future, with the main power workhorse at your disposal. That right there makes this a very good buy, for the future. If you are just getting started with welding, I suggest watching some videos online, and specify the welding type you are interested in learning how to do. They teach you well, and you can see exactly what needs to be done. Note that this does not come with any welding wire, so you will want to pickup some Gasless MIG also known as Flux core wire to get started. You don't need to spend a fortune on a big spool, but I would suggest .030 inch diameter in size to begin with. One last feature that I do really like is being able to use it from a 115 volt or a 230 volt outlet. And at the time of this review this was a very good value for the money.
