I was doubtful about its ability to keep me up float, but it totally does! The whistle was a nice touch in the pocket. Happy with my purchase. I do wish it had more reflectors on it, I don't feel overly visible.

First off... I am not an avid water sports guy. I grew up going on a ski boat from time to time. I even inherited my dad's super small CO2 powered life-vest. When I got into kayaking, I wore that inherited vest with pride. it was small, allowed my arms to move freely and seemed great, until I actually checked to see if the thing would inflate. Come to find out, it was old, worn-out, and broke... not much of a life saving apparatus. So I went to find an acceptable lifejacket. The "normal" looking skiing ones are great for that purpose, but not comfortable in a kayak. But then I found this aweSafe jacket. It is made for kayaking. The back is higher so it doesn't impede with the backrest of the kayak. The arm holes allow full range of movement for paddling. And over all, it is very comfortable. Well done. Needed something comfortable for long days on the paddle boards and kayaks. Easy to adjust, fits a variety of sizes. Pockets are great for bringing a few small fishing supplies. It dries quickly and keeps you afloat.

Everything looks great and feels great… I was using it for a standing paddle board… and as infelll into the water, one of the chest pads broke and the white padding fell off…. Maybe this one was defective and that’s why it broke?!! If they replace the broken one, I would love to use this product again. ... show more

    • Great value for a first time kayaker.
There may be fancier and more ergonomic flotation systems, but this is a perfect starter setup for the first time kayaker who is a bit on the larger side. The XL fits just snug enough for a 6'3" 210 lb individual and has allot of adjustment capability to get things just right. As an added bonus: a small camel back fits really well on the back of it and doesn't interfere with leaning back on the seat rest . Just used a coupe of carabineers to lock it on. Front pockets are an easy reach with the included whistle is just a nice extra feature. Highly recommend this flotation vest. ... show more
