Don't be fooled with the cheap mirror film - you will be hard pressed to install the cheap stuff on anything other than a flat surface. You get what you pay for. This stuff is expensive, but Avery Conform Chrome is the real deal. Defintely an alternative to chrome. Shiny as a mirror. Harder to install than clear plastic film - no water allowed between film and surface. But stretches with heat and will conform to curved surfaces. Can be pulled back multiple times and re-applied to get it right. I am not that patient and am not very good at applying wraps and films. But i was able to apply this to a pair of Mini Cooper headlight lense covers. I then applied clear plastic film to protect the mirror film. It's not perfect, but i'm satisifed with the results. As you can see from the picture, the covers are not curved that much, but you still need a stretchable complaint film. The clear plastic film dulls the mirror effect slightly. I feel it was worth a little less shine to get the extra protection. This film is totally opaque - the headlight covers are fastened with heavy duty velcro and removable for night driving. My tools of choice are a hobby heat gun (hotter than hair dryer), soapy water (for top surface of film), and my fingers did the smoothing and stretching. ... show more

Does not stretch easily, and it has a very slight texture to it, which makes it not quite a perfect mirror, but from 3+ feet away, it is perfect. I've had it on my door pillars and car rims for 4 months now. The rims are still in perfect condition, with the exception of a light scratch, which could've been worse damage to bare metal or real chrome plating. However, the wrap I put on the door pillars, which was much simpler and easier to apply, started to bubble up after about a month. Might be because the pillars are subjected to much more direct sunlight, in Houston, TX heat, than the rims. ... show more

Anyway there was an issue with the initial purchase I can't remember what it was but I do remember the seller completely made good on the order. As for the product itself I wanted to do a portion of my bumper on my chevy equinox. I procrastinated about it for a long time before actually doing it, I was very surprised at how forgiving it was at I thought this would be more of a one and done product. I pulled and stretched and squeeged a lot and I could have done more and made it even better but I ran out of time and kind of cut some corners. When they say 4ft x 1 ft... they sure ain't lying! For the price they are asking they should include at least an extra half inch around the salvage ends because it arrived scratched along the salvage end and in the middle of the four feet. I tried to heat it up to see if the scratches would come out but no success so I feel I just threw away $41.00 unless I find a small project to use it on. Came scratched, unfortunately like top chrome products from 3m, and vivid, it does not come with a protective seal on the chrome to peel off so it gets marked up.
