In the past, upgrading to LED has been difficult. But now, since these are replaced, just like normal bulbs, it’s super easy. Item arrived the next day after my purchase. Installation literally took 2 minutes, if even that long. Popped out the old incandescent soft (warm) license plate lights for bright (day) white light LEDs in my 2017 Ford Explorer.. They really brightened up my former low incandescent lighting plate lights. Now they shine bright! They are equivalent to 5-Watt power usage. Thus, 5 watts equals approximately 46 (LED) Lumens. Recently had my truck inspected, and was told a license plate bulb was out. This was surprising, as I had converted all my bulbs in the truck to LED bulbs, and had purchased them all from a high-end manufacturer and they have only been in for about 3 years. Decided to look on Amazon for a new set of license plate bulbs rather than buy another set of high priced bulbs from the place I purchased them previously. Receiving these bulbs, I was impressed with the quality of these bulbs. I noticed these bulbs have blade-style connectors, whereas my previous bulbs have what I call "Christmas tree light" bases, with a skinny wire exposed on each side of the base. I'm going to keep an eye on these bulbs as I'm curious as to how much heat they'll generate - they are literally covered with LEDs on every surface. If they hold up I'll be thrilled, as these were much cheaper than what I paid from the high-end guys. ... show more

These bulbs a little bit bigger, than they should be. First I was unable to insert them, then I found the way and simply little bit cut the plastic edges of the parts where the bulbs were going into and it worked. The bulbs are very bright, I'm glad I replaced the original ones.

Worked great as replacement license plate bulbs in my 2010 Toyota Sienna. No sweat replacing the bulbs, and they're nice and bright, BUT it is a project to remove the three pieces of paneling on the Sienna lift gate that give you access to the fittings that hold the bulbs. And those plastic fittings require more oomph to turn counterclockwise to remove than you'd expect. But that's what it takes. ... show more
