Until I learn how to not lose pieces in a set, I'll always need replacement odds and ends in the toolbox. Especially true when tool / part is something that isn't heavily used or needed. These Re-Threading bits are so handy and can often save the day of you absolutely need to repair some damaged threads in multiple size threaded holes. I'm an electrician and often come across metal boxes or breaker panels that sometimes can get the threads in certain holes that need screws to be used in that area damaged or sometimes even just slightly off while being manufactured. There are countless situations that I will need a screw to be threaded into a hole or the box becomes useless for proper functionality. These wonderful little threading drill bits are awesome and so easy to use. You can quickly change them out using an impact drill because they all have three 1/4" quick change drill bit head attachments. This set comes with the 6 bits you see in the photos. All the most commonly used threaded screw sizes. The biggest being a 1/4" -20NC threaded screw size, then next is a 12-24NC bit, then a 10-24NC bit, then a 10-32NC bit that has the same size diameter bit but it has tighter threads, after that comes the 8-32NC threaded bit, & finally a 6-32NC threaded drill bit. These are all three most commonly used Re-Threading bits needed for almost all residential or homes used because most residential metal boxes use these sizes of screws. They can even be used in a huge amount of boxes in commercial boxes as well considering outlets and switches virtually all use the same sizes of threaded screws in both types of electrical job sites. As long as you don't abuse or try to force these threading bits to fix extremely damaged threads they said last you many years easily. They conveniently have a perfectly sized storage box that's clear so you can easily see the bits included in this set making it much easier when looking for the correct type of Re-Threading Bit sizes and for the price of these 6 drill bits you can easily save yourself so much time because they are small enough to carry in your tool belt or with your drill bag so they are always close by when you come across a screw hole that has damaged or incorrectly manufactured threaded holes. These are truly a must have set when working on job sites requiring the use of metal boxes of all shapes and sizes. ... show more

Great set. Formally, I had to drill a hole and slowly tap it. Just yesterday I needed to drill and tap a 10-32 hole in an electrical box for a grounding screw. Using this set, it took seconds! I like this set so much I bought four more to give as stocking stuffers next Christmas.

    • Convenient, but break easily.
These work great for fiberglass. I stopped using regular screws on all my fiberglass boats and just use these with machine screws (small bolts with phillips heads) and some "3M 5200" glue to attached darn near everything these days. For fiberglass, these bits are fine. Anything metal, even aluminum over 1/16" forget about it. These will break off every time. ... show more
