  • LOVE IT
Im a saddle hunter and i keep this attached to the molle strap on my saddle full time. Clip my bow in before the climb, and pull it up when im tethered off. Great little product

  • Could be better.
This product in my opinion is mediocre. Luckily I bought the damaged package and spent may be $7 on it. Functionally it works. Attach to your gear and it will feed out as you climb and retract as you hoist. The rope is super thin. Making it difficult to grip. This puts a high end weapon at risk of hitting the ground faster than I wanted it to. The attached pic shows 300# test fishing line, the rope from the hoist, and 550 cord. Also it seems fairly noisey, depending on how you hunt that could be a factor, I still haven't decided if I will be using it this season or not. ... show more

  • Only can bring up a bow
Dont try to bring up your pack to the treestand with this. Even with gloves the string is much to thin and impossible to handle. If you ONLY pull up your bow/crossbow you will be fine but you wont bring up your pack. Interesting conundrum because all the climbing mechanisms (climbing sticks, ladder stands, climbing stands etc) all say NEVER climb with a pack on so I'm curious how anyone expects to get a pack into a stand... but i digress. This is a good item for keeping tension on a line for hauling up your bow only!!! ... show more

  • String is very thin.
While it retracts as you pull up the bow/gun, it is hard to get a grip. Don't try using this without a pair of gloves, and even then you will struggle pulling up your bow or gun. Don't try to pull up more that your bow/gun. You will have a tough time getting a grip on the "string" to hoist up. It autofeeds and retracts fine, butt ...weight. ... show more

  • Good product. Does the job.
5 stars because it is what it says it is. I really love the self retracting line, other products I was looking at were manual crank re-winders but this one is completely automated which means one less thing I have to worry about. I have not taken this out for a full hunting season yet but I do not expect any problems as far as durability. The line seems strong enough to last a long time. As the other comments have said, the line is thin. It saves weight and makes it less bulky but it can be a bit hard to grip. Not an issue for me but something to think a bout. I use it for a compound bow and it's fine, if you use it for anything heavier it may be an issue. The only thing I would change is the size of the clip. I wish it had a larger clip on the end that is carabiner style. So much better to have too big of a clip than one that is too small and you cannot change. Really like this product overall, though. ... show more

  • Ouch
This first positive is that it will defeed as you climb which eliminates a lot of tangling from a free rope. However, it wouldn't self retract my Hoyt carbon spider. Lastly, when lowering the bow don't trust the spring and west gloves. The thin rope are right through my gloves

  • Durability.... It is not...
Used 4 times and the recoil broke , ruined that days hunt... Waiting on a refund! Purchased one as a gift and he's happy with it , I think the string is to small and slippery myself... Don't waste your money!! Still no refund ...

  • A little big but a life saver!
Love this device. I put him in the water bottle holder of my backpack and when I'm climbing the tree in my saddle the string comes out and usually doesn't get caught on anything. Great little tool for all the bow hunters out there!
