This is an expensive set-up, but I didn't want the type of gage where fuel is pumped to my dashboard to measure the pressure. This uses a remote sensor that is wired to a steppermotor gage in the cab. It needs 12V power and ground as well as the wires going from the sensor to the gage, so expect to spend a little time if you want a nice clean installation. My 2.3L 4 cylinder Ford Ranger didn't have much room to directly thread the sensor directly in to the fuelrail port, so I had to use another fitting to make it a right angle. I was having an intermittent fuel pump problem, and this helped me diagnose that it wasn't the pump or the wiring, but the relay that controls the pump, an easy fix.     • The gauge is good, the sender is crap
The gauge matches the OBS Ford interior gauges well, both in font and color at night. It is a bit brighter than a stock factory dash, but that's ok. It works well and is responsive. BUT, the sender is absolute garbage and shame on Autometer for using such trash. I've had it installed for about 2 years now and the fuel pressure sender died about a month ago. A new sender is half the price of this gauge kit, which is obnoxious. I bought this gauge because it matched the Ford interior. Autometer has previously always been a solid brand, so I'm hoping it was just a fluke. However, it you read the reviews for the sender (autometer p/n 2246), I'm not so sure it's a fluke...I think it may just be a crap product. In hindsight, I thought this gauge would be more useful, but it's kind of pointless as it's typically rock solid around 90psi plus/minus about 10psi. I probably should have just gotten the HPOP gauge instead, and the next time the sender dies, I will. ... show more
