I ordered this on the advice of a friend who had used it after foot surgery. All of our vehicles are 4-wheel drive, so they have a large ground clearance and I am short. Even though our Jeep Grand Cherokee has side steps, they weren't going to help me get into the Jeep. I am very short, 5'2", so I needed something to help me boost my good leg, since I was having foot surgery and was not going to be able to put weight on my left foot while trying to get up into the Jeep. I was able to use this tool to give me that leverage I needed to hoist myself up just enough to grab the handle and pull myself up and in. So it was well worth the small price to give me that extra leverage. Had Jeep put a handle on the A post in the Grand Cherokee, I wouldn't have had this problem, but they don't. They just have the handle above the door. But this tool helped me get in without that. It is super strong. I put all my weight on that side when I leaned on it to pull myself up and it was solid. Super easy to carry it in the door of the Jeep. I keep it there permanently to make up for the lack of a grab handle on the A post! Oh, and I checked, Jeep doesn't even make a handle for that A post, so I would have to get some third party one. Sure wish they would fix that! ... show more

This actually works. The handle is just big enough to be useful, without being cumbersome. It is stable in the door frame, doesn't wobble or fall out. Very easy to slip it in the door latch, get out of the car, then easily slip the assist bar out of the door latch and simply set it on the dashboard until you return. (Don't leave it on the dash while driving!! It would become a missile if in a wreck. Be sure to put it securely away when driving.) Product was a great idea and executed well. ... show more

The door handle works great. Easily fits into door latch and you can lift yourself up if you need it. The strap that goes around the door/window, I wouldn't trust at all. Any slight pressure and it loosens up. If I tried using it, I wouldn't be surprised if it came completely apart when my full weight was on it. I'm disabled so falling wouldn't be good. I'm not talking pulling hard on it. Right now I have it on my bathroom door knob to pull door shut, and I still have to tighten it up. I'm not a heavy person either. 120lbs +/- ... show more
