I bought this book for my brother who loves to tinker with cars. He really enjoyed the book. But get the hard-cover version and NOT the paper-back one. The paper-back is just a review. (Why they are different I have no idea.) I would also suggest getting it from 2nd hand dealers to get a better price. I am a collision technician of 30 plus years. I am now a vocational teacher passing on my trade. This is the book I teach from and develop lesson plans with. If you want a book that will show you in simple terms how to work on your car or better yourself as a technician, buy this book. It is virtually the same as the 2016 version that cost over $200.00 in the bookstore at school. Buy this one, much cheaper. I bought a used one for $13.00 and it looked like it had never been opened. Im currently in school for Automotive Collision Repair and this is our assigned textbook. Im out of state, not working and my only income for school supplies is my sister and my mother who tries to send me money here and there. The price for the book in the school bookstore was around $250, including the paperback workbook. Toooo steep for me! After tax time I got a hold of some money and went searching for the cheapest option. Came to Amazon and found this one for a WAY cheaper price and the got the workbook here also. Those together were ALOT cheaper than the bookstore. Items came at a pretty decent time and everythings in great shape. Saved me a buttload and im back on track in class. Thanks! ... show more

I am a certified mechanic studying for the ASE collision repair and refinishing tests B2 through B6 and have found this book to be full of good information. I have read through some of the Motor Age B3 Non-Structural Analysis & Damage Repair: The Motor Age Training Self-Study Guide for ASE Certification study guides and have found them to be severely lacking in detail. This book gives a complete overview of all areas of collision repair and would be a great addition to your library. ... show more

Book has all the latest technology and some of the older technology. It is very extensive in what it talks about and explains. If you are interested in something on Auto body Repair this is that book. It is very long however which is a good thing because there is much to know about this industry.

    • Be careful what you're ordering - it's not the textbook
One star for the mislabeling, not for the item itself. While both the description and "Look Inside" is for the textbook, this item is actually only the student supplement. It is not the textbook. It only contains student exercises, quizzes, etc. and nothing else. Before ordering, double check and make sure that's what you want. Unless you are enrolled in a course, this isn't it. Unfortunately, Amazon is attaching the same description and reviews to all versions of this. ... show more
