I used this SIM card in Australia recently. It was great and simple to install. You need to activate it before you leave the US but once in Australia it linked right up to the network. The SIM card has several size options plus the eSIM option. It was registered to somebody called Hong though as I kept getting text messages throughout my trip saying Hi Hong! The carrier it connected to was Vodafone and it actually lasted for 30 days not 21 like the listing said. At the end of the 30 days i got a text with a link to recharge directly with the company which was great. I was unsure to begin with what my phone number was as I could not find it anywhere on the packaging, however I called somebody and stored it in my phone for future reference. The balance was easy enough to check as I texted BAL to 1511 and it told me what I had left. It was really nice to have this option to have my phone set up prior to arriving in Australia and not having to spend the time in a phone store with several small children. The network coverage was great even in the more remote areas that we visited across the country.

Look Up Amazon Order # & write it down on the envelope when it arrives - You'll need it to activate! Not easy to do from a mobile device, so look it up on your computer and write it down on the envelope that the SIM and instructions ships to you in so you've got it when you need it! I haven't activated it YET, so I can't comment on the actual process because my trip is still in the future. I'm pleased that it is a 21 day, 40G of data SIM, unlimited local calls, and 500 minutes of international calling.

Another great experience with a mewfi SIM card product. This SIM card is good for 40 GB while traveling throughout Australia on the vodafone network which is one of the three largest carriers in Australia. You can rest assured that the service is reliable. I picked this one because not only does it include a LOT of data, but it also includes calls and SMS which is important to me since a lot of eSIM or SIMs out there only have data only. Just make sure the phone is unlocked and you can pop this sim card right in. You do need to set roaming on for this to work. Activation was simple using their web form, you just need to include your order details and the SIM number. Overall, always a great experience with Mewfi. Support is great by reaching out via WhatsApp.

Traveling internationally can get very expensive if one needs full access to emails snd the internet. Most phone companies offer an international plan, but in my case, I’d be paying $10-12 per day for access. That could add up fast. A great solution is to purchase a SIM card for the country or region being visited. I’ll be in Australia in November so this card will definitely come in handy. First the card needs to be registered/activated. By visiting a website provided in the instructions, simply enter your Amazon order number, the arrival date in Australia, and provide a passport photo. Simple, right? Not so simple when it wouldn’t accept my photo. There was an example of what the photo should look like, but the example didn’t work, just a black screen with a small blue question mark in the center. I must have tried 25 times to submit my photo over two days, but it wouldn’t accept it. I even reloaded the website in case the first one had a glitch, the second didn’t work either. The instructions do provide a web address (and encourages the use of WhatsApp) for any issues, but honestly, this is not encouraging. If the website isn’t allowing completion of the activation, then I’m not confident that the card will be supported either. Based on this poor experience, this SIM card gets only one star. Just after I ordered this Sim Card, I bought an iPhone14 which only uses eSim, not a physical sim card. Apparently since the iPhone 12 there are only eSims. My previous cell phone used either. I have been emailing the seller of this Sim card and they have been very responsive and have said they will provide me the eSim info so I can use this card on mt future trip to Australia. Once I use the eSim, I will be able to report on how it works. In my past I have had some problems with eSims from other countries that I purchased in the foreign country: they did not work and I did not get a refund. I know with the physical Sim card you need to install and set up 2 days before in order to be sure it all works before you are in Oz. Not sure if this will also be true of the eSim.
