I haven't tried the remote. The legs are great and stay in the position I set them. I've had a similar one with flimsy legs. The ball is easy to put in any position I've wanted and stays. I bought this for my phone but the phone clip unscrews and screw on other cameras. The legs and head do fine with a full size Panasonic camera and a go pro style camera.

I bought this tripod for my boyfriend so he could film his shots from the tree stand. He needed something sturdy and would not be shaky. The bendable "arms" work great and wrap around the bars of the tree stand, and it holds the cell phone still as he films deer and turkeys. He likes it a lot!
