The reviews are correct. The stand itself is lightweight butttttt I'm talking one outdoor windy situation and it'll fly away. I did however just use a Manfrotto tripod for the base and that works well. Lighting is perfect. I used an Ipad mini and that worked well too with the mount. The light is very good but there are no instructions and no way to determine what light setting you are on. It is also hard to keep it sturdy on the tripod. It has to be tighten down very much to prevent wiggling around and even then it won’t stay like that. Over all it’s good if you already know how to use it. If you’ve never used one, you might want to find one with an instruction manual. ... show more

If you need this product to light up a tattoo or small space it’s a little lacking in brightness. However if your recording yourself, going live, or taking selfies it’s perfect! Multiple colors and super easy to use Bluetooth remote controls to start or stop recording or take the picture!

    • Not exactly as described but works well
The ring light works well but it will arrive not as described. It is being sold as coming with a 12v wall plug but you will be "upgraded" to a USB. Since I will be using this in an area without USB I'll have to now purchase an adapter. The vendor did, however, refund $5 for the trouble.

    • Decent and Inexpensive Ring Light for Indoor Use
This is a decent ring light for indoor use! I’ve tried three different ring lights so far — I use them for video self-recording, and also for small item product photography. I specify that this is for indoor use because it is of fairly light plastic construction (I didn’t say “cheap”) and I’m just not sure it would hold up under field conditions for you outdoor photographers. Also, the light needs a power source as it is NOT battery operated. PROS: It’s got everything you need; tripod, ring light with adjustable brightness and color temperature, cell-phone tripod mount, AC adapter, and a remote control that you can pair with your phone. The tripod adjustments feel solid and work easily, and the setup was simple. CONS: Light-grade plastic construction may be an issue with long-term use. Must be plugged in (not really a CON unless you intended to use it remotely somewhere). Summary: If you need an inexpensive ring light for indoor use, this would be a good choice. Treat it well and it should last a long time. ... show more
