  • Comparison of 100% polyester white tees
Size: Small-X-Large Color: White
I want to buy white T-shirts to wear under white dress shirts. I picked out two but the differences between the two were not obvious so I bought one of each: Men's polyester sport t-shirt. (White) (X-Large) Augusta 790A Adult Wicking Softball Tee - White, Extra Large This is my comparison in hopes it will help others in selecting a wicking polyester undershirt. First, I should say they are entirely different, primarily in fabric. They are cut almost identically, in a standard T-shirt loose barrel style. The difference in cut is that the Augusta brand has slightly smaller arm holes and arms. The width is almost exactly the same, while the Jerzees is about ½” longer. Both have a printed label. The main difference is in the fabric. The Augusta fabric has the traditional look of a hard, somewhat shiny polyester fabric that you’re probably familiar with. The Jerzees fabric looks and feels remarkably like traditional cotton T-shirt fabric – in fact, if I didn’t know otherwise I’d assume it to be exactly that (I wouldn't know how to tell the difference, other than with a flame test). Maybe more telling is the weight. Each of these are XL size. I washed them before weighing to make sure there were none of the fabric coatings which are sometimes applied to aid in machine handling or to yield a better hand feel or appearance in sales. So these have been washed and dried once: 4.7 oz Augusta 7.6 oz Jerzees To tell the truth, I cannot decide which one I like better. I probably won’t know that until I wear them a number of times and then it will mostly come down to comfort. I did ask a friend which she liked better, and she chose the Augusta. I asked what criteria she used in that decision, and she said it looked nicer. Maybe she didn’t like the looks of a shirt that looks just like a T-shirt. My guesses are that the Jerzees, with its more complex and thicker weave, would probably provide a little more insulation for the winter. Conversely, the thinner and flatter weave of the Augusta fabric might be cooler in the summer. It might take me a while to determine if there's actually a noticeable difference. I’m giving both 5 stars because they are as described and look to be well made. I see no problems with either shirt. BTW, and slightly off subject – I’m sure everyone has encountered ring-around-the-collar. I have a very expensive white formal shirt which developed a yellow ring-around-the-collar. I don’t like sending shirts to a laundry … I don’t know what they do but laundered shirts shrink, come back with cracked buttons, and don’t last very long – not a good way to treat a very nice expensive shirt. I don’t think the laundries have any special trick to remove the ring anyway. I was tired of my good shirts being ruined with a non-removable ring. Bleach doesn’t help a bit. So I set out to research the cause so maybe I’d have a chance of figuring out how to remove it. I found out that it is simply skin oil, which accounts for the yellow color. As you would expect, bleach isn’t going to make yellow oil colorless. The only solution is to remove the oil, so that means attempting the difficult task of removing oil from fabric. For a common household product, Dawn detergent seems to be the best – that’s what is used to remove nasty oil spills from unfortunate birds (assumedly without damage). I mixed up a small jar of half Dawn and half water, then using an old soft toothbrush, gently scrubbed the solution into the ring. Let it sit for a few minutes before washing normally. Depending on how bad the ring is, you may have to treat/wash/repeat a few times. Using this technique I was able to almost completely remove the ring from several expensive white shirts I was too embarrassed to wear anymore. I was able to put them, and the formal shirt, back into my active wardrobe. Taking a hint from this, I now try to prevent the ring in the first place by making sure to scrub my neck especially well in the shower to remove as much skin oil as possible before donning a white shirt. ... show more

  • Great Shirts
Im 5'6, 150 lbs, with a medium build. I was looking for a 100% Poly Shirt for undershirts and these are great. I have purchased other 100% Poly Brand t-shirts, to include 5.11 Tactical, Under Armor, Walmart Brands, Hanes, Champion, and the list goes on. I guess I am picky when it comes to the way a shirt fits but in my opinion, these fit extremely well. Other brands were either to short in the sleeves, neck to stretched out, fabric to thin, faded to quickly during washing, or the vertical length was to short, which was a pain if you tuck your shirt in and then when you bend down your shirt comes out. This shirt has a snug neck, not tight, which I like. The sleeve length falls just above the elbow about 1 inch, and the vertical length extends mid crotch level, so if you tuck your shirt in, it should not come out. I was also surprised on the thickness. It is thicker than most 100% poly sport t-shirts. It also looks good for casual wear as well. This is only based on the black t-shirt. I purchased only one to see how it fits. I would recommend this to others. I plan on buying more. Also, for the price and free shipping, it beats or meets other brand prices. ... show more

  • Not soft, but very nice for the price
I am a college student in Presoctt, AZ. It gets hot in the summer, and I mountain or road bike about 3 hours a day (about 50 miles when I am road biking, and 20 when mountain biking). I own two fancy bike jerseys, but I like to wear an undershirt for comfort and to prevent chafing. These shirts are amazing. I now have four of them and they compare to underarmor shirts that are 4x the price. These shirts are not very soft to the touch, but they feel very nice when wearing them and dry out fast when sweaty. I am 5'11" and 140lbs, skinny build, and these shirts are a loose fit (which is what I like). ... show more

  • Great for Police Officers!
Fantastic shirts for the price! These are honestly pretty comparable to Under Armor or other similar shirts. They work as advertised, wick moisture, keep me cool unlike cotton, and they don't hold odor or stains. Honestly, the only gripes I have with these shirts is that the material may not be AS HIGH quality as Under Armor, and therefore may not be EXACTLY like an UA shirt, but for the price it's close enough. The other gripe I have is that sometimes I find threads, but oh well that's with anything these days. I wear these shirts as undershirts at work (got them in white for under my white uniform shirt) and honestly they are incredible. Wearing a polyester police uniform all day is not fun, especially with body armor etc. However, after using traditional cotton shirts, and coming home soaking wet day in and day out, switching to these was a no brainer. Police officers, security officers, firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, or any other Public Safety personnel; THIS is the undershirt for you! They come in all the authorized colors for undershirts, and for the price they are awesome. I bought 5 (one for each day worked) and I wash them once a week all at once, by themselves. They have yet to stain, even after spilling on them directly. Follow the washing instructions, and these will last and last and last. ... show more

  • Had a hole on the right shoulder where the seams didn’t meet up.
Size: XX-Large Color: White
I ordered 2 shirts. Both were exactly what I wanted as far as size, comfort and being able to put a sublimation design on the front. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the hole until after I put on the design.

  • Comfortable, soft exercise shirt
This material is very soft and the shirt is quite comfortable. I am not a runner, but I walk for exercise and have worn these during the hot Memphis summer. The lightweight material makes it a good exercise shirt, and the wicking material does its job. A couple of things to note (not cons, but things you may want to know): These run small. I ordered a size larger than I normally wear, and it still fits snugly. The collar/neck does not stretch, so I have to take off my glasses to put it on or take it off. If you have a large head, you may have trouble! ... show more
