  • Sucgh a great value, At this price you can buy TWO so you have a spare!
For a solo acoustic player, this might be the best value I have ever seen. Don't think you're going to mix a band, as it only has two XLR mic inputs, but for your guitar and a voice, you're all set! It has an OK build quality for the money. It feels a little fragile, in spite of the metal chassis. That is the ONLY reason I'm not giving this 5 stars. I expected it to be noisy, but it's not. It's actually quiet with no added hiss or buzzes. The slide pots feel inexpensive, and they probably should, because one GREAT fader on a higher end mixer sells for more than this whole mixer. The 99 DSP effects give plenty of options. Reverb, delay, and others that actually sound pretty good. This entire mixer sells for less than a separate outboard effects box. Do you need to play break music at your gigs? The built in Bluetooth is handy for that, pairing easly to both my iPhone and my iPad (though, not at the same time) . Each channel has its own 3 place EQ. Most mixers in this class only have 2 place EQs, and they sell for more money. In addition to the individual EQ,s, 7-band graphic EQ is there to adjust the overall mix. That level of control is rarely seen in a unit this price range. I do wish I could give it 4.5 stars instead of 4. But as that's not an option, and I cannot give it 5, then 4 is what we'll do. It's a great value. At this price you can buy TWO so you have a spare! ... show more

  • OK mixer, sufficient for small things but by no means great
The metal body of the mixer itself though feels nice and sturdy, a nice contrast to any of the plastics on it. The six buttons for DSP/MP3/Mode are nice and clicky but the click doesn't necessarily mean it registered. I have to press pretty hard sometimes to get it to actually work. The knobs also don't feel very good, with the bottoms scraping against the body of the mixer with any pressure applied. The faders for the EQ bands aren't very well aligned, but this doesn't exactly affect their function, although it feels "wrong" to set it back to neutral by feel. Included is a white USB-C cable, about 5ft long, which doesn't really fit the aesthetic of the mixer. A minor thing, but when most cables are black it's surprising they wouldn't include one that matches the item in this case. There's also clearly a space in the packaging for a power brick but none was included. I wish you could pan the two XLR inputs left/right. Seems like such a basic function to leave out. You also can't set 3/4 as being mono input(s) so if you have two mics and a guitar, the guitar will be hard panned to one side unless you use a y-splitter to patch it into both inputs. With two 1/4" instruments they're permanently set opposite from one another. In addition to the headphone volume knob, their output level is tied to the main outputs, so if you have loud speakers and have to turn the mains down your headphones are going to be quite quiet. In my opinion these should be entirely separate so that you can have the mains muted but still listen to what's coming through the mixer. The EQ also affects both the main outs and the headphone, where I'd normally like to tweak the sound of a connected pair of speakers without messing with my monitor. On the front of the machine it clearly shows a laptop icon with "SOUND CARD" printed, but it cannot be used as a USB audio interface via its USB-C port. Whenever it's in bluetooth mode, there's quite a bit of grain or noise ever-present. Interestingly, it's a different noise when it's paused versus when it's "playing", even if the connected device isn't actually playing anything. It's technically also present in the main outputs but I haven't had any issues with it being audible to connected speakers since it's so quiet there. Other than that, it just sort of "works". It looks cheap and feel okay, but it functions fine as a four-channel mixer, within its limitations. As a small aside, I sort of appreciate how when it's playing bluetooth or USB audio there's an 8-segment LCD animation from the days of CDs. It's not accurate, but it's a fun nod to a time now passed. But that aside, I almost feel like it should be a 2/5. I'm not sure how much of my complaints are due to my own background and preferences though, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt with a 3-star rating. ... show more

  • Decent for a starter home setup
I picked this mixing board up for a home setup to do some voice over or podcast recording. Setup seems straightforward but I did run into some issues getting a clean signal to my laptop and recording software. I did finally get a decent test recording using the USB out, but it definitely needed further tuning and dialing in. I haven't tested the Bluetooth functionality yet and need to read the manual more closely to figure out the PC settings as it kept showing that something was "playing" but I'm not sure what it would have been. So in summary, it is functional and is priced decently for a starting point. ... show more
