  • Excellent rope
I use this rope to hold up 9 shade sails around my home. The rope scrapes up against tree bark, roof shingles and other rough surfaces and it never tears or snaps. It endures the pressure of strong winds, extreme heat from the sun and cold winter weather. I’ve purchased this rope four times. Really good quality. ... show more

  • Stiff but strong. 550 is right for most things!
Knotability isn't the best. This stuff is like 4g wire but it's pretty awesome in that you could hang a Smart car from it if necessary. I had 100ft of some cheap dollar store line when I couldn't find 550 or 1100 paracord after cutting up my tarp lines for something and it sagged so bad even TRIPLED up and tensioned with all sorts of advanced rope techniques. I am trained in both Swiftwater rescue and crevasse rescue so I can set up some descent rope systems to get the slack out of a system. The cheapo cord was like Gold Line of the olden days of climbing. Basically a rubber band. I tend to over compensate so this was paracord on steroids. I just set a Ridge line with a munter on one side on did an MMO to lock out the slack. Could have hung my Hammock off it. Had I gotten fancy with pulleys and stuff, Smart Car for sure. But all I had hanging off it was some clothing, battery operated lanterns and maybe a sleeping bag. ... show more

  • LOVE this stuff!
Color: Neon Orange Item Display Length: 100.0 Feet
I've used this while camping to hold up large tarps, for tie downs for hauling stuff in the truck, for tying off my canoe, and as a thin but durable small anchor line. I'm sure I'll come up with other uses as well. It is a bit tough to get a tight knot in it - a couple of times I've used a small pair of visegrips to cinch it up - but, at least for me, the fact that this has replaced thicker rope while increasing strength is a big plus that overshadows the knot issue. My only real regret is that Atwood doesn't offer this in *reasonable* bulk spools. I emailed the company about it and the only option they offered was 4000 feet for $690. I love this cord, but thought 500 or 1000 feet might have been nice to have, not 3/4 of a mile. The picture is a dogbone line adjuster made from 5/8ths aluminum rod. Perfect for the tarp setup. ... show more

  • Great product.
I use this type of cord for everything. I am a crane technician so I know a great deal about rope. This is a good product at a great price.

  • Paracord With a Cape
So, if Superman is way stronger than a man, Battlecord is way stronger than paracord. I've got 550, 750, 850, and 1000# (Titan Survivor Cord XT... also super good stuff) paracords, and this is the only one that I could sub as an emergency litter kit belay cord or tow strap, because you have to cut the absolute strength down to 1/3 for a working load (WLL). That gives Battlecord an 883# WLL, which you can definitely tow/raise/lower a patient's litter with, and given this weighs so little and takes up much less space than a much larger rope, this is ideal for either a backup in your main ruck, or a stow-n-go emergency line for Go Bags. ... show more
