I Absolutely Love this Scope
Wow, what a great scope. While it is not a $299.99 scope but rather $599.99 it is worth the price. The clarity at 60x is clear and makes shooting 1” .22lr benchrest targets at 50 yards extremely easy to see shot placement. Elevation and windage adjustments are crisp and reliable, the reticle is super thin and does not obscure the target and the parallax adjustment (side focus) is spot on for ranging the target by clarity. I only wish Athlon made this scope with illumination at the same price point; I know they make an illuminated scope at this magnification but that costs several hundred dollars more. ... show more

Excellent BR Scope
If you are a bench rest shooter or anyone shooting long distance silhouette targets: this is the very best bang for the money. You can easily spend a lot more but once you put one of these on your rifle you will have a hard time finding a reason to spend the extra $$$.

You definitely want this scope for long range shooting
I have tried numerous Strokes on my Savage 338. Nothing compares to the quality clarity of this scope it is an excellent value.

Heras SPR 15-60X56 Fully Functional at 60x
Many sub $800 scopes magnify to 40x or 60x, but are not actually usable at the higher magnifications. This Athlon Heras SPR 15-60 X 56 has tight focus with clear image quality at 60x. The included large side focus wheel snaps in and out of focus effortlessly making 1 yard ranging at 50-55 yards very consistent and repeatable. Crucial for Field Target applications. The glass shows chromatic aberration at perimeter, with good contrast at center. Reticle is on the fine side and is not illuminated. Lowest power is marked 15x and is truly 15x. No 16x marking for Field Target Hunters. Honestly functions better than many $1,400 scopes I have used. Life Time warranty is one of the best in industry ... show more

Athlon are great scopes
I believe Athlon scopes are some of the best value in scopes there is,even though i wasn't a fan of the reticle in this scope only because of the center cross hair,I like the small center dot better, but that had no effect on the overall quality of the scope

It's ok for the money but not for ARA bench rest
I bought this for target shooting - - I suspect it's usable as a hunting scope at very low powers, because even at 40X, the eye box is very small. I used it for 50 yd. ARA bench rest shooting. This is a VERY FINE CROSSHAIR scope and so it's sometimes a bit hard to find, but it's not cluttered and that's one reason I bought the scope, it's also a second focal plane, the second reason I bought it. After using this for a while and shooting a couple matches with it, I can say it's not worth the money. At higher.powers the parallax can't be adjust and I can't get the reticle clear and focused. It's almost usable at lower powers, but that's not why I bought. ... show more

Great scope
Excellent scope. Very clear and tracks perfectly. Shooting UBR with it. I like it better than my nightforce scopes

Its's OK for the Money
It's cheap for a name-brand 60X scope, but that comes with some shortcomings. There is considerable chromatic aberration at 60X. The eye box is very small at that point as well, It gets tiresome to use it for a long competition session because of the small eye box. I was hoping it would give me a magnification upgrade on my primary .22 match rifle, but I am sticking with my Sightron III 45X, which is all fairness is considerably more expensive. The Athlon is relegated to my backup rifle. Being the owner of an Athlon Argos BTR GEN2 10-40x56 as well I don't think the Heras is much of an upgrade at twice the price, ... show more
