Bright internal reticle, magnification brings it up close
Style: APLR2 FFP IR MOA
Very solid optic for the money. I put it on a Ruger Precision .22 to start my son in benchrest. Mounts easy, sights easy, 1/4 MOA per click is great. Bright light on lens, magnification brings it up super close. The optic outperforms the shooters at this point.

Best Money Spent On Affordable Optics
Style: APMR FFP IR MIL
I do have a Gen 1 version and that’s why I went back for the Gen 2. I have not had any problems or issues with the gen1 except for the normal mushy turrets. Gen 1 has been on a comp rifle for 3 years and tracks fine. Now my DPMS SASS .308 had an optic go down, a name brand and warranty is an issue getting it fixed. Needed an optic for hunting and Athlon was priced right for the job. The turrets are crisp and clean tracks very well. The optics are very clean for something price at this price point. It’s holding up very well. I could have spent less in the beginning and had no conflict getting the name brand worked on. I do recommend this optic best bang for the buck. I am a very experienced shooter competitively and from the military. It’s no American Optics or Night Force or Bausch & Lomb but it will get the job done for the right price. Buy with confidence good product.

Very nice for precision airgun.
Style: APLR2 FFP IR MOA
This is a very good optic for my purpose. I like to shoot precision grouping with competition air guns. The magnification range allows me to pinpoint my aim point. Also, with the first focal plane reticle, the scope allows me to use my kestrel and DOPE to dial in or use the same hold over regardless of the magnification range. The turret tracking is spot on as of right now and I dial all stationary targets out to right at 200 yards. If I am having to track a moving target, sometimes I will use the "dirty" reticle for hold over and windage. I would recommend this scope to anyone who is looking for a first focal plane scope with repeatability. By the way....the turrets clicks are very crisp and audible. The zero stop has allowed me to quickly engage targets at various ranges because I don't have to remember where I am on the elevation. I engage the first target, quickly dial back to zero,if there are significant differences in range, and then dial my next elevation. This does require one to know the close approximation of the target ranges. It also helps to be experienced with dialing for elevation and windage.

Value for price point=5 stars
Style: APLR2 FFP IR MOA
I'm a professional photographer and a premium glass snob. But in this case, long range accuracy performance is the king, so with that said the glass isn't the finest but it isn't a hindrance to the performance. The performance for me in this case is turret tracking and proper MOA reticle calibration. Athlon has done a great job and I can report that these most important functions are spot on! My eyesight is not the best so I also demand a full illuminated reticle and this scope doesn't disappoint. I chose the 8-34 for long distance reticle ranging out to 1000 yards and beyond on elk and deer. Being able to zoom way in makes for finer more accurate reticle ranging on 17-34 inch targets. Once I confirm the range I back off the zoom to a preferred focal point and engage. FOR THE PRICE, you won't find a better scope right now that is actually in stock! Only the ARKEN SH4 GEN2 can take the top spot for build quality but it has a 16 week backorder and growing. It however does NOT have a full illuminated reticle and it is only 4-16 power. The no BS warranty of this Athlon scope removes the overpriced scopes from Vortex from contention. Both are made in China, as well as the ARKEN. The choice is clear...when looking at reliability, calibration, and repeatable function, this is the only scope to get.

Excellent scope!
Style: APLR2 FFP IR MOA
Excellent customer service from the seller! The scope is more than what I was expecting. Crystal clear glass and the magnification is awesome. Athlon created a very nice optic. Precision was put into this scope and it was worth the money. I originally did my homework on Athlon as I have always been a Vortex optic person. The scope Athlon is making can give Vortex a run for their money! Thank you to Athlon and the customer service from the seller!
