I was a bit hesitant to order this one given the price in case I couldn’t return it and due to concerns raised by some reviews. I live in an area with very strong wind so sturdiness is important to me. Anyway, I am so glad I took the chance - I ordered two as I figured worse scenario, I could use them as garden climbers if they were not as strong as I thought. Easy to assembly (only took me, a screwdriver, a soft-headed hammer, and about 25 minutes), durable and solid material resulting in a very strong assembled product, and GORGEOUS. I’ll be ordering two more once I set these up for another part of the garden. Note: the pictures reflect an assembled pergola but it’s not positioned where it will ultimately go. When not bolted or buried into the ground, it widens outwards so I used the two sides of my gate to keep the form and space that I eventually want. I’ll likely train roses or bougainvillea on them and add a seat to one of them for a shaded area to sit under once the vegetation grows over it. ... show more

I actually have 2 of these, 1 in each of the back corners of my backyard. They are lovely. My brother installed the 1st one (after I assembled it) and immediately he said "You know you need another one for the other corner". When I saw this one on sale, I ordered it, assembled it by myself and installed it by myself (no mean feat because here in Tennessee we have SERIOUS clay. ) I have another one made by the same company that is 5 years old & have had NO trouble at all even though we had a serious freeze this last winter. This is a very well made product that will bring you many years of joy, and since there is no metal, it will not rust or cook your plants. Very well packed and not to heavy to lift or assemble. This arbor was purchased for a wedding and is only going to be temporary. I expected there to be missing parts and was happy to see that all the parts were there. Unfortunately there were 2 parts that seem to be for another style of arbor since the holes were drilled in a completely different configuration than what was needed. I will need to purchase a 1/2 inch drill bit and drill new holes. Luckily I will be using a drape that should hide the old holes. If I was wanting to permanently install the arbor, I would have asked for replacement parts. The arbor is very easy to assemble and sturdy enough for my purpose. Be prepared to drill pilot holes before inserting the screws. I am a handy 75 year old woman and I was able to assemble and install this arbor without help. ... show more

I placed mine in an non permanent area because I’m still deciding. However, my 12 year old assembled it. So, you’ll be okay doing it. It’s perfect and tall. Perfect for the vines that will eventually grow over. Worth the $100.

    • Really Easy To Put Together

For me, this was very easy to put together. Less than an hour. I pretty much snapped the entire thing together, and then reinforced it with the screws. It's perfect for what I wanted; I have a climbing rose that can hang onto it. It looks good. It's true, as someone else said, that it doesn't seem super sturdy when you put it together. But, I thought that about some resin fencing I put up 10 years ago, and it's still standing. I would definitely use some quick cement to anchor it. UPDATE — I am updating this about 7 years later. The item has been standing in my yard now for 8 or 9 years. It’s still standing strong and upright. Over the years, it’s withstood at least 2 major hurricanes and a tornado. Still looks new. 5 stars, still. ... show more

This item is extremely flimsy. Once it was put together and put up fell over( with no wind) so, i had to concrete it into the ground with four 4ft pieces of rebar. And secure it to the fence. Holds up now.
