I can’t speak to the longevity, but the function and performance of this is top-notch. I’m an athletic built 230 pound guy and the thing holds me in the exact orientation in the water you’d want to be. The chest pocket is extremely accessible, the fact that makes a little table to hold things is phenomenal consideration. The two-piece front flotation makes maneuvering on a small craft as easy as it can be. I wasn’t planning on testing its flotation capabilities on my first trip, but I ended up putting it through its paces and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I'm part of a swiftwater/flood rescue technical rescue team, so we rely on our jackets to be able to withstand some pretty difficult conditions. This was the real deal, and had fast shipping on top of that. It immediately got put to use, and has been through the ringer already, between flood rescue, kayak towing and several other situations with no issues.
