  • Meets expectations
As with every piece of machining equipment I've ever ordered from China or India with the exception of cutters (but not every time) it comes with grime already in it. I don't know why this is, it seems that a few seconds of a wipe-down before adding lubricants would greatly improve their reputation. I don't know if the grime has silicates in it from the grinding process but I'm not willing to take the risk. If you but this product, disassemble and clean it. This will be an ongoing issue for me until I improve my situation enough to order higher quality tools. It would also improve your situation to add a small brass insert to the stop for the table, make a brass stop or to at least sand that end to reduce the damage the stock hex/flathead stop is doing every time it's tightened down. The threaded insert that levels the table could also be sanded were it contacts the table. A tapered bearing might also be a good idea in place of the sealed ball bearing on the bottom. The indicator on the tilting mechanism seems pretty accurate. I checked it a 90 degrees with a square but one could bend the indicator a little closer to the scale if you need it as good as is possible. I also noticed some very light rust on a couple of the ground surfaces but it comes off with a scotch-bright pad. The manufacturer might want to take not though, because I've dealt with rust issues in my line of work and it can become a serious issue if you aren't keeping an eye out. There was a hole in the bag from a shipping mishap that also broke the ttyrofoam and the box. Vacuum sealing, injecting an inert gas into the bag before sealing or adding a moisture absorbing packet will greatly reduce the possibility of rust. I haven't disassembled mine yet as I just got it yesterday but I'm pretty certain I'll find other areas where simple improvements can be made. Still, it's a good table for medium precision projects and I'm satisfied with my order. Just remember that it's a given to disassemble and clean any discount equipment that comes from these countries until... whenever they decide to jack the price up a couple of bucks and just do it themselves, I guess. ... show more

  • Move the mounting holes out from under the hinge and table for better access.
6.75 mm center hole is a little large and could not center the table any closer than .006 inches. Perimeter of the table is a little better at .0055 inches run out.

  • don't waste time on this.
broke after 1st use. the handle for rotation is the only thing that keeps the 4in table in place. if you apply anything but the tiniest of forces to it the handle starts to come off. there is no way to lock down the table to prevent movement. even with all screws tightened down you can move the whole table with your hand. I gave it 2 stars only because it did function as stated and there was nothing wrong with the parts. so if it was a toy, then yes it was fine. the issue is solely with actual use in a mill where the gear broke immediately and the handle started to come off. i was just doing a test cut at the 3in mark. 0.020 deep on 17-4 stainless steel. handle turned then everything went to hell. table swung around about 1/4 turn. handle almost came off. you can now turn the table with your bare hands and feel the gear slip into nothing. returned immediately and sucking it up to buy what i should have the 1st time. don't cheap out on tools, you always regret it. ... show more

  • T-Slot Dimensions
Usual low cost Chinese/Indian quality. Usable for light duty operations. I have not yet performed a metrological assessment. I chose this table because it has four t-slots vs three and the cost. I do not need the precision and quality of the $986.42 VERTEX 3900-2338 rotary table. However, the other cheap 4" rotary table with three t-slots has a MT2 center. I need four t-slots more than I need a MT2 center. If this table had a MT2 center, I would give it a four star rating. As with all inexpensive Chinese/Indian machine tools and accessories, it will need to be disassembled, cleaned, de-burred and possibly have some parts re-machined. I do not regret the purchase. ... show more
