  • Good price and good performance, yes memory OC, no CPU OC
This board is the best in class for the price and feature set. It delivers good performance while being able to handle all but the 7950/9950 at full output. The onboard qflash allows you to update bios without needing a temp CPU if you are going 9000 series. The only down side, and I am not taking any stars off for it since it is a feature of the chipset is no curve optimization or overclocking. That is reserved for the B650 chipsets and above. Without overclocking my 9800x3d chip was keeping pace with my B650e board within a 2% since that CPU is mostly dependent on memory overclocking which this board is perfectly capable of. As long as you don't mind not being able to overclock the CPU, this board is the one for you. ... show more

  • Bad product and bad support
I ordered this at the start of January and the item did not ship until the start of February. Not a huge issue but not a great sign in my opinion. Once I finally received the box, the product box was damaged, not the amazon box it arrived in, but the box inside of that that came from the vendor. Again not a huge issue but not a great sign. I built the computer which went fine. Everything connected to the board perfectly. Went to boot for the first time and nothing. Tried onboard graphics, external graphics, HDMI, display port, multiple monitors. Nothing on any of them. The fans would start spinning and lights would go on but nothing. After navigating their horrible website I downloaded the bios flashback and tried to re-flash the bios. This process didn't work. I finally reached out to ASRock and they walked me through the same steps I had just followed on my own. They then tried to tell me that I had either fried the board or my CPU and that it was my fault. I drove to microcenter, bought a different mobo, swapped it and powered it on. Worked immediately. I then began trying to return the mobo as it was defective. They said they don't do returns but would be happy to send me a replacement. I am still in the process of working with them to get a refund and will update with the outcome. ... show more

  • Meets all qualifications to be considered an motherboard
Needed a bios update out of the box. Board was marked with bios 3.15 but no idea if it had that. If so then 3.20 which claimed to fix a no boot in a minority of cpus, means every 9600x user? Wasted a bunch of time poking at it instead of updating bios at first because I doubted it was the case that a 9600x would be the one but sure. Unlucky. Still though for the price it's alright, it's a decent mobo. Supports faster ram speeds than the $10 cheaper gigabyte one or whatever too so I went with it. Why the hell does it only have one usb-c on the back, put more like 2 c 2 a if it's a port limitation which It isn't. ... show more

  • Great A620 board
This board does support CPUs up to 120w TDP meaning a 7800x3D will run at its full speed. It’s the cheapest board I found that supports that CPU and overall I’m happy with it. Since I’m not longer in to overclocking and the 7800x3D is not really geared towards that, this board fits the bill. For most people, this board is perfect. This also has 2 m.2 slots and 3 fan headers with enough power to run multiple fans on 1 header (up to 20w per header). ASRock makes some of the better boards imo, especially when it comes to budget options. I don’t have any problems with overheating, really all you need is an intake fan running cool air across it and there should be no problems. Definitely recommend this if you’re looking for an itx board to pair with a 7800x3D or equivalent chip. ... show more

  • inexpensive entry to AM5 platform
I’ve had this for a month paired with the Ryzen 7900 with zero issues. It did ship with the oldest BIOS so make sure to update that right away from ASRock’s website.
