Wow! Let's just start there. I originally purchased these as a way to get into "running" and only use these for running activities. They were on sale and cost me about half of what the running store wanted for other brands. I ran my first half marathon in them and continued using them still today over 1 yr later. Currently I have just over 1,000 miles on them and I am just starting to wear all of the way thru the tread. Yes I have ordered another pair and will probably get another just so I have them.

The GT-2000 9 is a lightweight, cushioned stability running shoe for people with gaits ranging from neutral to overpronation. The uppers have been redesigned with a one-piece mesh made from recycled materials. ASICS’ FLYTEFOAM and GEL technologies are used to provide lightweight cushioning and attenuate shock. I’m a 64-year-old male distance runner. I’ve been running competitively since 2014. I’ve completed numerous 5Ks and half marathons and I’ve completed 6 marathons, including the NYC Marathon. I’ve qualified for the Boston Marathon several times, although I haven’t ever run it. My training includes 30 to 40 miles of running each week. I replace my running shoes 3 or 4 times each year. I’ve tried several brands of running shoes but most of my shoes have been ASICS shoes. I like the ASICS shoes because they work well for me and I think they’re a good value. I’ve tried several models of ASICS shoes. I need a shoe that corrects for overpronation. I used to wear the GT-1000s but I started wearing the GT-2000s a couple of years ago because I feel like they provide better cushioning. That’s important to me since I’m older and I run a lot of miles. I know ASICS occasionally makes changes to the GT-2000 shoes but they seem to be pretty consistent from pair to pair. The only thing I don’t like in my most recent pair is the laces. They feel like they’re made from some type of synthetic material. I always double knot my laces and I haven’t had any problems with them coming untied or being difficult to untie. I just don’t like the way they feel. In a couple of months I will be ordering my next pair of running shoes and I expect they will also be ASICS GT-2000s.

I wear the shoe for walking both outdoors and on the treadmill. It feels like a good quality shoe but could be a bit wider. Not sure that it's the wide version that I ordered but feels somewhat better as I walk more in it.

this sneaker is a great sneaker. it is much better than the 8. the design is less boxy and more streamlined. it is much more comfortable and helps with the pronation much better as well
