I like a firm sole for jogging, not something that tries to cushion my foot. There are like the running shoes I use to have in High School track team - 1970s - (without the cleats). Really solid, tight fit and definitely no slop. I jog 3 miles and these are the best I have found in a long time. Good everyday shoes, lightweight, wide enough, and breathable. The only downside is - even after two months I can still feel the insole edges in the arc zone, they haven't taken my foot shape. This is a common problem for many latest models of Asics, in any case.

I’ve gotten ASIC gels forever, they’re always comfortable and last a couple years. The Gel Venture 6s have been great, this is my second pair and they are a perfect fit for my feet, plenty of cushion and room. The soles last a long time, though the sides tend to rip near my little toe, and the laces are too thick, frequently coming untied, I still love these shoes. ... show more
