These batteries and charger totally failed to charge and work properly. I have just reached out to Artman Power and will give an updated review appropriate to their response. I realize it is possible for a defective item to slip throu a manufacturing and QC process, so I want to try another one before rendering judgement. * I did not receive a reply when I contacted the manufacturer via their support address in the instruction booklet. However, after posting a 1 star review, they quickly offered a replacement. It has just arrived. I will give them 3 stars for doing the right thing. In a couple weeks when I have seen how this set performs, I will update my review again. **Okay, here it is. The new set of batteries works great! My thanks to Artman Power for correcting a misfortunate situation. I really can only give them 4 stars for customer service since they did not respond to my original email to their CS department, but the batteries are as advertised. Their product gets 5 stars.

I plugged the unit to a "standard -- not high-speed" USB charging block, following the directions carefully. As anticipated, all 12 LEDs switched-on briefly then turned off. Then I inserted all 12 batteries and closed the lid -- all 12 LEDs started flashing (indicating that the batteries were all recognized and charging). Five or six hours later, only 2 batteries of the 12 had solid green LEDs -- the rest were flashing in "random patterns" not described in the directions and indicative of Goodness-knows-what. Entertaining I guess, but not useful to me. I moved the product to a "high speed" USB charging block and decided to leave it plugged-in for the rest of the day as I saw to various chores outside of my home -- and when I came in about 6 hours later (total = 12 hours) all 12 lights were solid green, no flashing. The batteries then worked just fine to power my devices, and I have not encountered any problems since. So, my conclusions: 1) The product works -- charges batteries that work well in my devices. 2) If the batteries and charging unit last for more than 3 or 4 cycles, this will be an EXCELLENT value. 3) The flashing LEDs provide information that is complex and confusing. 4) It takes longer than I anticipated to charge batteries and have them "service-ready."

For the record I am reviewing the: Artman Rechargeable Lithium AA Batteries 3600mWh with Charger, 8 Pack AA Lithium Batteries for Blink Outdoor Camera, 1.5V Constant Output Double A Battery Rechargeable, 2000 Cycle Charging Time (Blue) UPDATE: I received a message and an offer for a full refund from the supplier. I did not solicit the offer, and likewise I was not asked to update my review. I think the customer service for this company is top notch. Refunding the purchase price with the following review was good business. I can say that your are in good hands with this company if you have any problems. So far I have charged them three times. I am using them in an Electrical Stimulation unit for pain therapy. They seem to last for two and a half 30 minute treatments and then the unit shuts down due to low power. Now I will admit that the therapy unit does use a lot of power but they should last longer than about 80 minutes. They may need to be recharged a few more times before they work as advertised but I am not going to hold my breath. The charging box is nice, and they don't take too long to charge, but I am not impressed. I am going to try different batteries in the unit and see how long the last, but for now I am not happy with these for what I intended to use them for. I am not going to make a recommendation as to if you should or should not get them, as it could be that I am using the wrong type of battery for what I am using them for. So, read other reviews and see what you think before hitting that buy button.

DO NOT BUY! I have only had these a few weeks. I have charged them maybe 2 or 3 times after using them in decorative flameless candles. One of the batteries ruptured while in storage in a wooden drawer. It was NOT shorted out by anything. As you can see in the photo, the positive end that ruptured was against the wood side of the drawer. That is good because it could not short out against anything else. It is BAD because it almost started a fire that could have burnt my house down!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I WILL BE THROWING THE REST OF THEM AWAY VERY CAREFULLY SO THEY DO NOT START A FIRE!! I would leave zero stars if I could. I am not someone to post reviews nor do I get excited very easily. I understand a lot about batteries. I use lithium batteries in power tools and electric powered RC planes. The hype about lithium batteries is real! If you have these, store them in a fireproof container when not in use!!! Better yet, throw them away, but not in the trash where they can start a fire! All of this type of lithium battery has an electronic circuit inside that reduces the 3.7 volt lithium cell voltage to the standard 1.5 volt of regular alkaline AA batteries. If that circuit fails, it can short out and overload the lithium cell to the point of failure which is what I think happened here. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

These are obviously much more expensive than rechargeable NIMH batteries. I would definitely not recommend these for use in remotes, childrens toys, etc. My use case was putting them into a smartlock because I wanted the longer lasting voltage output of the lithium ion, but these will still produce a lower voltage when they are close to death. This allows for less frequent charges because it will still perform the lock at the appropriate torque required by the proper voltage output similar to what you would see from an alkaline battery, but without the drop you see in NIMH. Charging is more annoying, I did have to purchase a newer charger that could charge both NIMH as well as Lithium Ion just to keep things simple. The charger this came with functions totally fine and can also be used for storage but I preferred the idea of having one central charger that can do both... Not necessarily a negative of this particular product just an annoyance to be aware of since the charging voltage is totally different for these lithium ion batteries.

Keep in mind that I've only had the product for a little over a week. So far so good. Not sure about battery life at this time. Compact design. Charges at a reasonable rate. The price wasn't to bad. Easy to use. Hopefully it last long. Gave 43stars because adapter plug wasn't included and battery charge doesn't last long....UPDATE: Battery life is short. Batteries lasted 5 days. The good thing is that I have the rechargeable ready. The bad thing is the charge is short lived.
