  • Baked up great!
Size: Set of 42
While I've made things with clay before, I've never baked it myself. I made some things with my kid and baked for the first time. Everything turned out great. The colors are really good.

  • Great collection of colors, good for charms and jewelry.
Size: Set of 42
Very cute little kit. The box is 5 14"x 5 1/4" and the bars are 3x1 and 1/4" thick. The color selection is really impressive, the clay is nicely pigmented.I did not so any color mixing with this clay so can't say how clean the colors are. The texture is interesting, it is very soft and kinda sticky/tacky. It is not like Premo, Fimo or Kato clays that I have used. After testing out one of the bars it is surprisingly strong and is not brittle after baking at 255(ish) for an hour. I did two different thickness, the thinner piece was able to finally bend enough to tear it, the thicker piece (second to the thickest setting on my pasta machine) did not tear with some bending. The 1/4" inch thick didn't bend or break at all. Since the clay is so soft, it isn't a clay for making canes or sculptures. What it is great for is small charms, and journal covering! The stickiness of the clay allowed me to attach little balls and squiggles onto my test piece with out needing any bake and bond to stick. I did not even put pressure on the clay to get it to attach. After baking I was not able to pull or chip any of the parts off. I have to say that was impressive. Despite the softness and stickiness it did hold the imprint from a stamp. All in all the clay is a nice surprise and I like it so far. the tools and other bits in the kit are not very good, but would be fine for kids. I do rather like the little box it came in, and the colors like I said are very pretty. ... show more

  • Absolutely Gorgeous Colors
Size: Set of 42
I am a polymer clay professional and I typically use Fimo and Premo Sculpey. I bought this for my boyfriends 10 year old daughter for her birthday. She loves to craft with me in my clay room. She had a little bit of a hard time with the softness but honestly I don't think it was hard at all. Since I smash clay all the time my hands are very strong so maybe it's just me....but she still loved it. Great colors, the greens especially. The only negative thing is the packaging design is super boring. You can't tell how awesome the colors are or even what's inside. I gave this as a gift and made her open the box to truly get an idea of what it even was. Other that that, awesome. Highly, highly recommend! ... show more

  • Worth the stained hands
Size: Set of 42
The clay is kinda hard to work, but it comes with a bunch of nice colors and a few tools. The kids is 4 and loved it. The color does rub off on your hands, but crafting is more fun when it's messy. It held its shape well and it comes with enough for a bunch of projects. I am gonna try it with my god daughter next. ... show more

  • Good clay with some issues.
Size: Set of 42
Got this clay as an experiment after using sculpey for a few years. Box, tools, and accessories are pretty lackluster, but serviceable. Tools are unusual enough to make the kit worth while. This kit is a nice one-off for a few projects and would be good for kids. This kit does has its pros and cons, however. Pros -Colors are amazing. They are vibrant, unusual, and even subtle difference make it worth it. The metallic colors are serviceable, but you can find better in more name brands. -The colors after baking have a slightly translucent, light, airy sort of look to them. It's like they were mixed with a percentage of translucent clay. -They condition quick, and stick to each other well, making joining pieces together easy. -Texturing tools are very nice, and the box makes travel and storage simple. -Mixing it is amazing, I did quite a few marbled pieces and the color transition is AMAZING. Cons -It's soft and sticky. If you are wanting a sculpture clean of fingerprints, good luck. It easily deforms when you attempt to remove it from surfaces, when you can remove it from surfaces. I used a tile to bake it, and found a good amount of difficulty removing baked pieces. (It can be done, just be careful.) -Directions are false on cooking time. I baked a few pieces for the recommended time and they came out soft and brittle, even after they had cooled. If you are attempting to use this production, cook at 275 for at least 1/2 hour or more. Keep an eye on it and make sure you let it cool completely. -It can possibly be less sturdy then the name brands, so using it for something that's going to sit there would be best. Ultimately, I think it cold probably be a bit cheaper and it's actually not too bad for a beginner who knows about the pros and cons when you are working with it. Know that it's soft and using it for very simple sculpts (even beads) will make you less likely to get frustrated, and even possibly prepare you for the more expensive clay. I am probably going to use my kit up and stick with my own clay, even though I ADORE these colors. ... show more

  • I would absolutely buy this again
Size: Set of 42
This is really great Clay, a cute starter kit. It’s condensed in a nice little carrying case. Which is actually really good quality I would absolutely buy this again. I love how many different colors are in it. I have added a lot of pictures so you can see. Edited to add: I have bought more of these, they work great. They don’t need to be a started kit. The clay needs to be baked which I like so it never hardens with out is ready. We don’t find we have many left over colors. We use it all before moving to the next kit. ... show more
