I love this thread storage satchel. We have a lot of mice in the house (working on that!) and this thread box works well. I had another one that had two sides for thread and not only did it hold fewer spools they always fell out and the box didn't stay shut. The perfect case for organizing threads for paper and hand piecing. If you can’t see your threads, you can’t use them. This case was used to blend threads from two stashes by color. The case holds, by my count 108 spools - two internal trays each holding 54 spools in 5 rows: 11 per row on the outer 4 rows and 10 in the inner row. The clasps are sturdy and the handle folds out of the way. The case will keep these beautiful threads dust free. These quality threads keep well and are gradually used over decades so this is key advantage to this type of case. This case is sturdy enough to last beyond my own sewing career and pass along to another quilter I looked over a lot of thread storage solutions. This case beautifully organizes the Gutterman and Mettler threads - both the small 150M and medium 200M, 250M, 500M and 800M all fit well. Had 2 YLI pearl cotton 100 yard spools and they also easily fit this case. This was the perfect solution for organizing the type and quantity of threads from two stashes. The case is a good value as high quality thread is not inexpensive. Ordering the colors revealed duplicates and gaps between the two sets. This case is really good. For the thin/narrow threads it will hold a whole case of them. However, if you have a standard thread bobbin, they will not fit on every peg as they are too big so you might have to get more cases. Even with this problem, I recommend this case as it is sturdy, stackable, and secure with two latches. I did have a problem with the seller sending the wrong item, but they fixed it the next day and I received the correct product two days later without having to return the wrong product, get a refund, and then reorder the item. The newer spools fit, but the older ones do not fit as well. The spool pin treats can be removed so that other types can be stored, but they aren’t as neat stored thusly. Specialty thread short cones can fit if stored upside down. Seems study. Nice to have thread spools in easy to manage and store containers. ... show more

I really really wanted to love this item....HOWEVER, the spacing on the inside of the box is a bit deceiving from the pictures. Most of my spools of thread are 300yds, which I consider to be the standard size spool for most of the primary colors....I have some that are 250yds which I buy for specific projects but probably won't get finished right away. I have also seen the very thin spools, which I would say are the specialty colors but I rarely buy those. My 300yd spools only fit in every other slot and I can't anything in between them. My 250yd spools can fit snugly right next to each other but will have a tight fit on the end of the row against the wall of the box. I do not have any of the smallest spools at this time to try the fit but I do not buy them regularly and don't intend to start just so I can use this storage box. The description of spools is by mm and in the US all the spools are sized by yards so it was hard for me to know if it would fit or not. I was hoping it would fit but unfortunately it just doesn't work for my needs....it will be going back. If you buy lots of small spools this would probably be a great storage piece for you. The storage box itself is fairly sturdy and the latches give it a secure fit once closed. ... show more
