I got these for warm weather actual hiking as I finally wore out my old Merrells. These run a bit bigger than the Targhee 3, which I bought and returned because the toe box was cramped. I like to wear heavyweight wool socks when hiking and my normal size is perfect for that in these. If I were wearing thinner socks, I would have gone a half size down in these. But for hiking, I don't want my toes bumping up against the end of the toe box and these fit the bill. I have no experienced any slipperiness with these as some people have, so maybe Keen improved their mold release process. *Update* have worn these around to break them in a little and have hiked miles in these as well now. One of the best for wide feet. Nice toe box for solid comfort and a durable sole for good protection. Plenty of good traction with nice aggressive tread. If you have any durability issues with the sole, just make a warranty claim with photos, and Keen will take care of you,

4 stars just because of how off the size is with Keen footwear. Just know these run big. I wear a 9.5 in Nike but know that Keen tend to run big, so I ordered a size 9. They were still too big, so I returned them and bought an 8.5. They fit perfect and I Iove the boot.

Their sales pitch made me want to try them. The toe room space really is wider. Put them on when I got them. Wore them all day. Comfortable. When you need a wider shoe, sometimes I wonder if the maker understands the difference between long and narrow. To actual size with wider toe space. EW these shoes worked as needed. Trained in these and used them for a 78 mile backpackging trip in the Uintas. Very comfortable for my picky feet. Waterproofing was pretty good but a seam or two were imperfect. Great traction. Lots of padding under the laces. Happy I bought them.

After ordering I had read Keens fit large so I was concerned that my order of 11.5w would be huge since I wear an 11w but they were out. Much to my surprise they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. They look good but a few things seem “off”. They came packaged as new with the laces tucked neatly away like new and are perfectly clean but a few things make me wonder if these are seconds. The first thing I noticed was the “fuzzy” rubber one one of the toe caps as seen in the picture. On the sole both appear to have some sort of shiny glaze unevenly applied but it could be a shine from melting perhaps because the texture of the cleats is also unevenly smooth, also seen in the pics. It is odd. When I took the pictures I had only walked around the house a little trying them on and wouldn’t expect that to cause this. Lastly the loop on the back of the boots isn’t uniform and appears haphazardly sewn on at different places. You can see the boot on the right is much more off than the left. I hope the unseen construction is of better quality. When you pay this much for shoes you expect better quality control, not left to wonder if it’s a knockoff. ... show more
