If you have a GM truck with Autoride Suspension with a 100K on the odometer and tow a trailer regularly you will be replacing the rear shocks soon. I have replaced three different sets on three different GM SUVs. The first two sets I used the AC Delco replacement parts. The price of the AC Delco shock are equivalent to a small country! After reading a few owners forums these shocks were mentioned a ton, and were well liked. I ordered a set for a 2008 Yukon and were surprised when they arrived at the front door. Yes these shocks are re-manufactured, but all the internal guts are tossed and the replacement parts are better quality than the OEM stuff. Let me stress these are quality parts, do not be afraid to order them to replace your failing shocks. Two warnings: if you install these shocks, start the truck afterwards and get the ABS Light and Service Stability Light - you knocked two harnesses right above the shocks loose! Trust me! Get back under the struck and run your hand along the frame rail by the top of the shocks and you will find the harnesses. The next warning; if your OEM shocks are leaking now, causing the compressor to run all the time, disconnect the compressor (driver's side, behind the rear wheel), or you will burn out your compressor and have to purchase another one! There is just one harness on the compressor, and yes you can still drive the truck with it disconnected.

Pretty much as described. Top section is replaced with new but is plastic, have to see about durability. Pretty easy to install and working fine. Ride not quite like new but certainly better than it was. Note though there is no core refund contrary to what it says in the listing.

I'll make this short and sweet. I hitched up my car hauler to my truck with 115k miles and the old dry rotted bags gave out. After much deliberation, I decided to try the arnott shocks since they seem to have a good reputation around the GM autoride replacement circles. I was initially nervous after I opened the box. Something as simple as the air inlet nipple on the arnott shocks was plastic (it's metal on the factory ones). But I figured anything was better than my old shocks at this point. A few days and a 5400 pound Lincoln loaded up on the car hauler later and all I can say is these are a great product. The truck is back up to factory height, the ride is vastly improved, and the compressor only came on once since I installed them (when it aired up for the trailer with the Lincoln on it). Combined with the warranty, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I had recently replaced my rear shocks on my 2007 Avalanche LTZ with Air Ride (roughly 140,000 miles on it) with Arnott Industries AS-2708 remanufactured shocks (from OE cores) expecting them to plug in to the existing compressor and wiring with ease, which they did in about an hour's time. I noticed the day after replacing the shocks that the right side shock had some exposed piston (photos included) between the air bladder portion of the shock and the upper mount. I assumed the remanufactured shock could be faulty, and contacted Arnott who suggested that my compressor might not be strong enough to keep the shocks at their specified pressures and levels. The left wasn't exhibiting the behavior because the air line to that shock from the compressor at its light rear mounting location is only 6 inches long opposed to the several feet to the right side. Arnott advised testing my compressor for pressure, noting it should be 135 psi. After calling around town, no local shops or dealers had any way to do so without building an adapter for a pressure gauge. While my original compressor and shocks seemed to function normally, the compressor was pretty loud, and would kick on for 20 seconds every time the truck was started, put in park, or even idling in gear at a light. Loading the bed in November with a load of firewood proved that the original shocks, while able to hold enough pressure to keep the truck level, as well as not throwing any Stabilitrak error codes, obviously couldn't function under load, with the rear dramatically sagging and the compressor running the whole way home, prompting the new shock replacement. I had two choices, remove the new shock, put the original back on temporally, and wait to ship the shock back (to my retailer on Amazon, Arnott will only deal with returns, replacements, and warranty issues for parts purchased directly through them) and get a replacement and go through the process again, with the possibility that it in fact was the compressor and to have gone through that process for nothing, OR try replacing the compressor. I replaced my compressor with the Dorman 949-001, which comes with all the hardware required to simply remove the old unit and pop the new one on. No reusing of old dirty and rusty parts. The compressor snapped both shocks right up and I haven’t noticed the exposed piston issue since. Only offering 4 stars out of 5 because Arnott wouldn't issue a replacement to me directly as mentioned above, and there seems to be some question on the GM owners forums, here in the reviews/questions, and on the internet in general about whether the Arnott units are completely refurbished or just have worn out soft parts replaced, which contributed to my doubt of the product’s quality when I encountered my issue. Arnott is not very upfront with this information. I would recommend replacing your old compressor when you do these as well; I thought mine was fine and it definitely was the culprit. You can do the compressor job in less than an hour in your driveway if you are semi-handy. UPDATE AUGUST 2015 Arnotts both completely failed. Won't even hold air long enough to inflate the bags to cover the strut. Very clear that both shocks were 140,000 mile cores that just had new airbags put on. The shock still has 140,000 miles of travel on them! Save yourself the headache and spend a few extra bucks (they are almost the same price) and buy the ACDelco parts on Amazon. Skip these "remanufactured" pieces of garbage...

Bought these for A 2011 Chevy suburban. I like the price. The part looked clean and good to use. Upon installing the parts, I realized that there was too much tension on the air hose connected to the shocks. Furthermore, when the truck flexes up and down the piston above the shock connected to the upper chassis lengthens causing more tension on the air inflation hoses. I saved money, but the parts are not a good fit for the 2011 Chevy Suburban with auto ride suspension. I opted for conventional KYB Monomax shocks front and rear instead.

Used to replace the stock shocks on my 2006 Yukon XL Denali. Perfect fit and function and restored the factory auto leveling function. Have had on for 20000 miles so far with no issues.

The jury is still out on these, I will update after a few months . That would be a good durability test. Even though there is a lifetime warranty with this product, that means little if you have to exchange them every 6 months. Rebuild quality looks good, but I question the assembly procedure .
