Really, Really nice piece. all steel, leather straps are thick and heavy, fits my 185 pound medium frame very nice. Fits like a glove around my 38 waist so 40 plus waist sizes might be a little tight. All in all a good piece.

This is a really nice costume piece. I'm a bigger guy and it fits pretty snugly, especially around my love handles where the two pieces meet. I've discovered that wearing my elastic back brace sucks in my fat and it fits much better then. But be aware that this armor will not fit and will be painful to wear if you are of generous girth. Other than that, just be aware that it comes with protective oil coating it that keeps it from rusting. Wipe that stuff off with a mild cleaner and it'll be good to go.

Purchased this from Armory Replicas. It was exactly as pictured. Overall, a great piece for the price but there are a few things that keep it from being perfect. First, it fits big. Had to add holes to the straps for a tighter fit. You will need pads on your shoulders where the armor rests as it can dig in. If you are a bit bigger and the front and back plates do not overlap on the sides, you should wear something thick underneath the armor as the gaps between the front and back plates can rub against you uncomfortably. THIS WILL RUST!!! It comes covered in oil to prevent rust, but it is also dirty. If you clean the oil off then be sure to oil or wax it again IMMEDIATELY. I degreased it and left it out for one day not thinking anything. It had a full coat of rust on the front and it took a few hours to get it all off. After that, it did not look as cool. It was still great for the price, although not historically accurate for most roman eras.
