  • Excellent Pair of Boots / Incredible Value Excellent Pair of Boots / Incredible Value
Size: 10 Color: Wicker
These boots are well-made, beautiful and not-so-arguably the most comfortable pair of western boots I’ve ever worn, and I’ve only worn them for the past hour. As I walk in them, the two paralleled creased areas created on the tops behind the toe box and in front of the instep slightly lighten the leather, giving them a slightly worn in look. Beautifully made, incredibly comfortable. Just one piece of advice: Purchase a half-size down. I can’t stress that enough. Otherwise you’re gonna be sending them back. I’ve tried on many different western boots, and most are manufactured a half-size larger than stated. Example: If you’re a size 10.5, buy a size 10. I have approx quarter inch slip in the heel before break-in, and that’s precisely what you want. Room for toes, snug at the instep, and a quarter inch of heel slip while you’re walking. ... show more

  • Damn nice boots Damn nice boots
Size: 9 Wide Color: Antiqued Grey
Alright, so, I haven't had a pair of boots since I was like, OK, well, let's just say it was pretty much 30 years ago. Remember when America loved country in the mid-nineties? Y'know, before Shania and Carrie, and Reba was the hottest woman in Country Music? Yeah, that era. So, it's been a minute. Why did I come back to this? Hell if I know, honestly, but, here I am, lifting weights, wearing camo and talking to God - just seemed like this was where things were headed and I embraced it. So I got the boots. Which, again, I have no real frame of reference, so, if you've had boots in the last 30 years, we probably have different expectations. Was I prepared for how soft the leather was? Nope, but, it's damn nice. Flares out my boot cut jeans a bit more than I was imagining, but I assume that'll change as we age together. Putting 'em on . . Again, I'm used to sneakers that I keep loose-laced and can slip on. Taking whole minutes to literally shove my foot in was not what I was expecting, but, understandable. Once I got into 'em, I understood why it was suggested to go half size down and one step wider. They're a little tighter than I'm used to across the top, but I think that'll loosen up with some more time in 'em, too. The half step down in size and going wider was clutch - they fit very well. The insole is also pretty comfy, looks like a memory foam kinda deal. Color is pretty accurate from the pictures, I've attached my own real-world example. They're definitely a square toe, which, I personally believe is more appropriate for men, and bottom line, they look right under jeans, where they should be. Your toes obviously aren't gonna fit all the way to the end, but I don't feel like I'm wearing clown shoes, either. Outsole felt pretty tacky at first blush, which was unexpected, but a welcome detail. I'm not worried about slipping in these, despite having a boot heel I'm not used to. Doing a few laps in the driveway, looking like I'm learning to walk, again, help mold 'em to my feet. So, in conclusion, I'm finna pop the tags and give these a fresh coat to make 'em mine - I'm keeping 'em and looking forward to many years in these boots. TLDR: color is pretty accurate, go half size down and one step wider, and you should be fine. Everything else is preference. ... show more

  • Nice boots
Size: 9.5 Color: Wicker
I can only give four stars because these boots are really hard to pull on. I’m hoping it’ll be easier as I pull them off and on. Otherwise they are easy to wear and comfortable already after only a couple of wears. True to size and they are thin and light…. Edit- I’ve updated the boots to 5 stars. After breaking them in over the past couple of weeks, these boots are easier to put on even with thicker socks. I love these boots! ... show more

  • Instep Makes Putting On Boots Hard. UPDATE 8/31/17
Size: 15 Color: Earth/Brown Bomber
This is the first pair of Ariat boots I have bought. These boots are sweet and they look great! I ordered the earth brown color size 15D. My other pair of boots are a size 16D and they fit a little large so I decided to go with a 15D because Ariat's have been known to run big and Amazon recommended I get a 15D. In running shoes, I wear a 16-17 depending on the brand and I'm 6'5 and my feet are not considered wide. When I put the boots on, it is really hard to put them on and to slide my foot in. I have to wiggle my foot and pull really hard on the pull straps to get them on. Once they are on, the instep is a bit tight, but the length and overall size is good and my foot feels secure and comfortable in my boots (besides the instep being kind of tight). I am hoping the more I wear them the looser they will become and the easier they will be to put on. Surprisingly, it is easy to take them off. I like the feel of the shaft being all leather. I always wear ankle socks and so far I have not experienced and uncomfortable rubbing, scraping, or discomfort. I am giving these boots 3 stars because they are hard to put on. Otherwise, they are great looking boots and the color is a little lighter than the picture in the ad. I will try to update this review as I "break in" these boots. UPDATE 8/31/17 It took over a month but I can finally put these boots on without using a shoe horn. They are more broken in and they feel good. I changed this review to 4 stars from 3 because they fit better now but they are still tight on the top of my foot and still somewhat hard to put on. These boots are still badass and I get compliments on them all the time! ... show more

  • MUST READ FOR PROPER FIT ARIAT DESIGNS ARE DIFFERENT
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Antiqued Grey
PLEASE READ (kinda long but important) Cowboy boots are a very new thing to me and I wanted to ensure the proper fit. I have flat feet and it's a challenge to find comfortable footwear. My first pair of boots are the Ariat Sport Stratten which I purchased at Boot Barn in Texas. The staff was able to help me find the correct size (10 D) where my toes had ample room in the toe box, the width was snug (but not tight), arch was supported, and the heel had a little bit of play. HEEL Cowboy boots have some play in the heel which felt weird at first though I figured out that with regular shoes the laces are tied so you feel snug. If you get a little play in the heel it's normal and pinch the shaft of the boot so you can get the sensation of a good fit. In essence, it should feel like your laces aren't tied (in the heel area) but the width will keep your boot on. My second pair are Ariat Rambler's (antiqued grey) which are basically and brown/black finish. I was able to use try before you buy and went with a 9.5 EE and 10 EE. The 9.5 EE fit like a glove so I kept those. I suggest using this feature when buying boots. (SIDE NOTE: Don't be a dirtbag and just throw the return boot back in the box. Try to repack as nicely as you received them. Try them on inside and don't walk outside messing up the bottom of the boot) They were stiff the first week and they are slowly breaking in to the point where they are getting more comfortable by the day. They are a great boot and have enjoyed them. I used a little and I mean a LITTLE black polish on the toe area and buffed them to give them a more worn out look. TIPS Wait until later in the day when your feet have swelled up a bit before you try on the boot as that's how your foot will be by the end of the day When you slip it on you should hear the whoosh of air and a small pop to know you foot is seated properly IF the toes/width/heel are tight like it's compressing your foot go a size up. The fit should be snug and a little uncomfortable so they can stretch/break in over time. Best Jeans I use Levi Signature boot cut jeans and stack them (meaning I go 1" longer in the length) Levi's relaxed jeans to hide some of the bucket effect (looks like you have buckets around your ankles) Wrangler boot cut or relaxed (ONLY TUCK YOUR JEANS INSIDE OF YOUR BOOTS IF YOU'RE TRYING TO KEEP THE JEAN LEGS FROM GETTING MUDDY OR WET) Overall I'm happy with this boot and have been wearing them daily. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Sizing is definitely skewed
Size: 13 Wide Color: Earth/Brown Bomber
This is an awesome boot. Looks great and is super comfortable. The sizing, however, is way off. I wear a 13D or 14D in normal shoes depending on the brands. So I originally ordered a 13D. Got the shoes and the they were too narrow. Ordered a 14D and they were also too narrow. Ordered a 13EE and the right fit perfectly but the left was too narrow. Ordered a 14EE and they were so big, I could kick the boot off by flinging my leg forward. At this point, I went to a local retailer that sells Ariat to see what was going on. The man who runs the place is a real cowboy - owns a huge ranch out here and opened his own western store cause he was having a hard time finding products he could trust. He ended up giving me some advice about western boots: the length does not matter and the heel slippage doesn’t matter - what matters is that the widest part of the boot must be directly under the widest part of your foot because then the arch of the boot lines up with the arch of your foot. Everything else will fall into place once the boot wears in and forms to the foot’s arch. Pull-on western boots shouldn’t break in over the top of your foot as that’s what keeps them on your feet when you walk. When the boot breaks in under the arch of your foot, and the balls of your feet break in the widest part of the boot, the boot essentially sucks itself onto your foot and stays put. He also has been selling Ariat for years and gave me some advice that he picked up along the way: Ariats made in Mexico fit true, Ariats made in China tend to run narrow and Ariats made in Vietnam run long. In the end, I ended up ordering a pair of 13EE through him and he ordered three pairs for me to try on. I ended up with a pair from China that fit a little narrow, but after 3, 8-hour days, they have become my most comfortable shoe I currently own. ... show more

  • Comfortable, Broken-In Feel Right Out of the Box
Size: 8.5 Color: Antiqued Grey
These boots have that classic western look with a worn-in style that feels casual but still put together. The antiqued grey finish gives them a rugged appearance without looking overly flashy, and they work well with jeans or more everyday outfits. I like how comfortable they feel right away. The interior has a soft, broken-in feel that makes them easy to wear for long periods without needing a long adjustment phase. The fit feels secure around the foot while still giving enough room to move naturally. What stood out most for me is the versatility. They do not feel limited to just western wear or specific occasions. They work just as well for casual everyday use, light outdoor wear, or just being on your feet for extended time. The sole also has enough grip to feel stable on different surfaces without feeling too stiff. Overall, this is a comfortable and stylish western boot that feels easy to wear, versatile in use, and solidly built for everyday situations without overcomplicating anything. ... show more

  • BEST BOOTS.
Size: 12 Wide Color: Wicker
the leather quality is the best. it doesn’t have a special liner i believe and has a top layer leather that makes it feel soft and the shaft feels a little flimsy. i thought when i first put on the boots when it was a little tight before i broke them in i thought it was going to rip, but no it didn’t. it still is great and so far is creating a nice patina. idk about the waterproofing but when i test it i will for sure out mink wax to waterproof it further. it’s light and really functional for work. the slip resistance is great, one of the best i have used and i got no idea about how waterproof it is ... show more
