  • Finally can wear boots again
Size: 13 Wide Color: Antiqued Grey
I have had injuries to both legs and have had both rebuilt. This has caused my shoe size to change from a 12 to a 13W. Boots were particularly difficult for me, as my ankles no longer had the flexibility to navigate into the boot. I still cannot wear any of the taller boots, particularly with a riding heel, but these ropers from Ariat have been great. The uppers on the boot are no reinforced, so they have a lot of flexibility and give. The boots themselves are very comfortable. It is amazing how much more comfortable boots are now compared to 30 years ago. I still have to use boot hooks to get them on, due to my injuries, but they slide on pretty well and I don't have much in the way of slippage once they are on. To be honest, I enjoyed the first pair I bought so much that I bought another pair, same style, different color. I heartily recommend these boots. Even if you don't have mobility issues, they will feel great, and if you think you can't wear western boots any longer because of injury or mobility, give these a try. ... show more

  • Not to Shabby
Size: 12 Wide Color: Antiqued Grey
So I go through boots like every 6 months to a year. Honestly first time buy ariat boots and the quality is not that bad. Definitely stiff leather out of the box; I'd recommend soaking them for a minute then dumping the water out and wearing till dry. Probably should condition them too. I received these boots today, the leather is soild and quite thick. Soles are not super comfortable but adequate along with the stitching which isn't that bad either. Now I'm a 12EE and I ordered a 12 wide; they absolutely run about a half size longer than a normal 12 and almost a whole size smaller around the arch by the heel. To me that's pretty normal for every boot I've owned. There's only one minor defect in the right boot. Since no 2 boots are the same; the right boot doesn't hold/retain water when filled. It seems pretty obvious that the stitching wasn't 110% check/completed. Now it's minor to me and a easy fix. However for someone else well that's gonna piss them off. Wicker grey is more dark brown than grey especially wet. The mouth of the boot is also quite large and thats okay because normal relaxed or straight pants fit fine over them. Honestly 9/10. ... show more

  • Comfortable boots
Size: 8 Color: Antiqued Grey
Theae boots are very comfortable They are sturdy very nice looking. I could wear them all day. They do run a half size bigger so if you are a size 10, you should get size 9 1/2 other than they are wonderful boots.

  • Excided my expatiation
Size: 12 Wide Color: Wicker
Disclaimer, I'm a Justin Boot man, have been all my life. I was looking for something different, a square toe work boot. After looking at many different boots, I kept going back to the Ariat boots and looking at the reviews. I kept seeing people say that they are comfortable, but warned you to go 1 size smaller because they run large. WOW, I was nervous. I wear a size 13 in every footwear. I ordered these boots in a size 12 wide. I'm so glad I listened to the reviews. Because I received these boots and wore them to work. It was a perfect fit. So if you are planning on buying these boots order them 1 size smaller, but make sure it's wide. I do believe that if I order a regular size 12 the toe would be to tight. I'm a big guy so it made sense to get the 12 wide. The fit was perfect and so comfortable to through out the day. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone. I promise this will not be the last Ariat boots I will buy. Take the chance you will not be disappointed. I will be doing another review based on the longevity of the Boots ... show more

  • Exceptional Boots
Size: 10 Color: Antiqued Grey
These are the best every day boots I've ever owned. Note - I do not work outside in them, but I've worn them almost daily for the last 4 years in an office environment. So I realize they're not being fully tested, but they are comfortable all day long.

  • Quality is just not there
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Wicker
I bought these boots on the "try before you buy" option. I should have immediately rejected them the instant I saw them, but I thought they'd be ok for around the house and shop. I was wrong. The first thing I noticed was that there was a seam down the front and the back of the shaft as well as the sides. The shaft was 4 pieces. The seams are stitched together on the outside of the shaft instead of the inside like normal boots. I didn't notice that in the picture. Every western style boot I've owned over the years has had 2-piece shaft construction with side seams stitched on the insides. Those seams cause the shaft to have an odd shape almost like an elongated diamond instead of being round. The front and back seams in particular look odd to me when sitting and your jeans/pants expose the shaft. The heels are very large and hard with almost no give at all. They stick out at least 1/4 inch behind the boots. Doesn't sound like much but it's enough for the heel to hit the ground unexpectedly early for me. That, along with the heel counters having very little shape in the vertical direction so that they are too loose on your heels means that the boot heels hit the ground unexpectedly early and then the sole slaps the ground no matter how you try to compensate. Awkward and embarrassingly noisy, not to mention just plain difficult to walk in and hard on my feet because of the heel hardness. Think hard like a hockey puck. Finally, there is the boot's finish. I cannot tell that a finish coat of any type was applied over the dye, which is thin and uneven. The first day I had these boots the dye just cracked and started falling off anywhere the boots flexed, like across flex points at the balls of your feet and various places on the shaft. that was from just wearing them inside the house for a couple of hours. While some may consider that instant distress what I saw was unprotected leather. That's a bad thing if you are expecting these boots to hold up to yard work, work work, or workshop tasks. So add in the cost of getting your hands on some decent leather conditioner (if you don't already have some lying around) and some good stain wax polish before you try to wear these things in unfriendly environments. They're going to need a couple or three drinks of conditioner that you'll need to let dry before applying the wax. Seems a little futile to me since while the boots may hold up a little better after that there's no reason the think your feet will. ... show more
