Seeing is believing. It's big and reusable. I am not careful or I guess cautious for that matter. I am not able to reuse the cheaper mylar blankets. I would definitely spring for this. It will last a lot longer. My people, you know who you are. Cheap mylar blankets are cheap and frustrating. So you toss them instead of fussing with them. This you can even have kids fold it up. Yes it will take up more space but it also won't rip in a strong wind. ... show more

    • The XL Is Really Big but Awesome!

This makes a great tarp but be advised the XL is huge. Very happy with the strength of the material, reinforcing around the grommets (huge grommets) and it's impervious to rain. Only down side is the bag --I dare anyone to fit it back in after use. Lol Not a big deal for me as I had a spare dry bag that works perfect for it. Too heavy for backpack gear but at a regular camp site with the kids it was absolutely perfect! I'd also recommend keeping this in your car if you live in cold climates --it could be a life saver! ... show more

It is not the lightest or the most compact survival tarp but it is extremely high quality. Our tent was nearly 8 years old and we ended up having a thunderstorm and water started pouring in. Threw this over the tent and because of the weight of it we didn’t have to tie it down and kept us bone dry.
