  • Efficient and Affordable
Size: MIG Welder 200A with Pulse
So far I was able to fix my tractor without having to disassemble the parts and take them to a shop. Wait a week or two and pay a big price for a small repair. Then reassemble the parts on the tractor. I did put in a 220 outlet as on 120 the fuse was tripped.

  • ARCCAPTAIN 200P MIG welder
Size: MIG Welder 200A with Pulse
ARCCAPTAIN 200P MIG welder. The ARCCAPTAIN MIG200P is a fantastic dual power capable welding machine. Capable of running on 110V or 220V with the included power adapter. On 110v you won't be able to run it as hot or long as you would on 220v but it's still a very capable machine on 110v. Am I an ARCCAPTAIN fanboy? Why yes, I am. I have several ARCCAPTAIN welding machines and love every single one of them. The MIG200P is considered a multi-processor machine in that it is capable of MIG (gas/solid wire or flux core, lift TIG (although it is foot pedal capable and of note, a TIG torch is NOT included in this bundle but can be purchased separately), Stick/Arc (stinger included), and is spool gun compatible. This is also a pulse capable MIG machine that is fantastic for a beginner and makes even a rookie like me look like a pro with a pretty weld. The MIG200P also has a synergetic mode where you can select the material and gas and it will auto adjust for voltage and wirespeed taking the guesswork out of the equation for us newbies. That said, once you get the hang of it, you might want a little more control and can tweak it to your liking. The dual color display is easy to read and the dial controls are welding glove friendly. This machine is capable or welding mild steel, stainless and aluminum (but will need to purchase spool gun separately). Most, if not all ARCCAPTAIN welders have a 60% duty cycle which is almost unheard of at this price point of welders. These are budget friendly, begginer friendly and even though manufactured overseas (from mainland U.S.A.), their customer service has been fantastic. You must understand that the OEM is on the other side of the globe, so there will be some delay in response but they have very active customer support to include some provided by their U.S. resellers. The only issues I've ever had with any ARCCAPTAIN welder is the ground lead is a little small but this is the same issue I've faced with any other budget friendly welder from several other overseas manufacturers and is usually something I replace from the get go (bigger lead and heavy brass ground clamps. Outside of that, I've had zero issues. This welder comes with the welder, MIG gun and lead, Arc stinger/lead, gas hose, power adapter, some wire rollers for various wire sizes and ground clamp. Oh, AND it comes with STICKERS! Who doesn't love stickers/swag to rep your new favorite welder? The ARCCAPTAIN MIG200P is perfect for that small shop whether your home shop or small business that doesn't want to pay the price of those big blue or red manufacturers but needs a really good capable and reliable welder. I'd definitely recommend ANY of the welders from ARCCAPTAIN. I am sure they have one that will fit your need. ... show more

  • A Perfect Balance Of Budget & Performance!
Size: MIG Welder 200A with Pulse
I ordered this MIG welder from ARCCAPTAIN to aid in welding the exhaust on my old Honda FourTrax. Due to its age, I was not able to find suitable replacement parts and had to get creative. I actually already own a plasma cutter from this brand, and it has worked very well for me. So, I was very confident that this welder would also work out well for me. Fortunately, it turns out I was right! Right out of the box, my first impressions were excellent. The welder and all included components and accessories feel very well built. The digital control panel is very easy to read, and it displays everything you need in real time. The MIG torch is comfortable to hold, and the trigger is easy to operate. The wire feed mechanism makes it easy to install and remove wire, and while in operation, it works very smoothly, which allows for consistent welds. The machine itself has a surprisingly small footprint. I have to say, it’s actually quite incredible how compact these machines have become. My first welder I ever purchased was about three times the size of this unit, but it didn’t have a fraction of the power. This machine can easily sit atop a workbench, or can be thrown in a truck and brought with you wherever you need it. It’s also surprisingly lightweight. Setup of the machine was super simple as I use flux core wire. All I had to do was install the wire, plug the machine in, select my material and thickness, and I was off to the races. The machine automatically adjusts voltage and wire feed speed according to what material you are working with. Talk about intuitive! With previous welders, I would always end up blowing through thinner material. This welder was dialed in right from the get go, and it made welding the thin steel of my exhaust a breeze. It produced clean, strong welds with zero blow through. I couldn’t have been happier with the final results, and I now have a properly functioning exhaust! I should also mention that I used the welder on a standard 110V household outlet, and it didn’t once pop a single breaker. This was never the case with my previous unit. I found myself constantly running back and forth to the breaker box. Even on 110V, I was very impressed by the power of this unit. As you would expect, this machine will also operate on 220V, and in addition to flux core, it is also capable of MIG, gas MIG, TIG (with the optional torch), and stick welding. All in all, I have to say that I am very pleased with this unit. The welder has worked out fantastically for me. I own an older Lincoln, but going forward, this will be my machine of choice. It’s compact, yet powerful, easy to operate, and it produces consistent, quality welds. I look forward to continuing to put it through its paces, and I have no doubt that it will handle heavier material just fine. If you’re in the market for a pro level machine at DIY prices, I would highly recommend this unit from ARCCAPTAIN. ... show more

  • Sweeet machine. Impressive value and performance
Size: MIG Welder 200A with Pulse
This is my 3rd multiprocess welder aqusition to date, ive been learning for a couple of years now, and have several pieces of Arc Captain branded tools, from aprons, helmets, hand tools and magnets, to now this multiprocess welder, all have been excellent value for the farm shop, DIYer, and builder engineer guys. If you are a "full time serious professional" welder, you arent here, you are snickering at this while touting your "superior" Miller or Lincoln machine , you would not even consider anything else, meanwhile, im buzzing away in my garage with a fraction of the expierence, using this machine that costs only one quarter of what a Miller or Lincoln of similar capabilities does, and im laying down some really impressive and acceptable beads, (being my own ruthless critic with OCD. ) Im finding this machine is quite capable of everything it claims. I could write paragraphs about its technical specfics that wouldnt be as thorough as some others here have, and you can read, so instead i will present some insight to those shoping for a multiprocess welder, and hopefully help with your big decision without throwing tech babble at you. First, im telling you once you start getting into this hobby / profession, you are going to find yourself wanting to upgrade if you buy a really cheap base model to start, and if its really lame, you might get discouraged. Luckily Arc Captain seems to be consistent good quality throughout the price ranges, and offers an impressive, and actually overwhelming selection of welders. And theres litterally hundreds of competitors, a few of which have some similar market presence and prices, but few of those have the readily available accesories, consumables, or product support. Arc Captain has also had consistent quality, quite above average IMO. So i can say its hard to go wrong with this brand to start with. I started welding with a 80 dollar off-brand unit. i loved it, although at the time didnt realize it was pretty crude, kinda like a butter knife for steak, it worked, kinda sloppy, i didnt know better. I outgrew its features and abilities in a couple of months and wanted a better unit that could do aluminum, so i got another off-brand 5 in 1 unit for around 200 dollars. It did all processes just ok, and i "outgrew" it in 3 months, while it did steel great, aluminum not so much, just the heavier stuff without tearing it up. Aluminum is a much more exacting and demanding process. All the while im attending YT university under several "professors". Then i learned about pulse welders, (the next best thing to a very expensive AC welder), and.... in comes this baby... GAME CHANGER, especially for builders who want to start more seriously welding alumium and stainless steel, espwcialy small stuff. Pulse welding lets you refine aluminum welding by TIG or MIG processes and do much finer work, faster, easier with much better results. ( butter knife steak knife paradigm again). Dont make the mistake that a better welder does heavier thicker work, its actually the opposite, it takes a better machine to do fine detail work. So let me help you out here. Start with a base model 2 or 3 process for steel in the 100 dollar range, and 120 v AC power will do fine for you, and that is all you need for almost any steel work job you have around, and thats all you want. Its fun and fairly easy to learn, and actually cheaper than taking your trailer (or whatever) to the welding shop, and standing there thinking " i bet i could do that" , and the answer is YES YOU CAN ! If you KNOW you want to do more, and will want to start learning aluminum and stainless steel, then trust me and skip straight past the 200-400 price range and just splurge a little and jump straight to here, or maybe an even better model that also features pulse technology. Short of a VERY expensive AC process machine, PULSE technology is the way to go beyond steel, and also taje steel to another level. I like this little welder just fine, its super small and light weight, versatile and powerful, easy to use, but i upgraded again within a month, to another Arc Captain pulse machine, almost the same model, but in a package deal that included more torches, a cutter and MOSTLY a more advanced TIG process. (Review coming soon of that model) The TIG features was the decsion maker for upgrading one more time. Im getting into TIG mostly for fine stainless steel tubing and railing on boats, (there huge $ in the marine industry), the appearance and integrity of the work is very demanding, and its by far the most complicated and tedious process to learn. Subtle features in TIG make a huge difference, mostly with the "start" process, baseline is " scratch" start, which is cave man and discouraging, dont even bother with it, almost useless. Then theres "lift", pretty good, very useable, especially when you can upgrade to a foot pedal, which this unit allows for. Next level is "hot" start, and Arc Captain has some more expensive models that feature that, which is what i just upgraded too. That unit is considerably bigger and heavier, and works better on 240 v. Im keeping this one in my mobil shop, its better for lugging around and theres nothing wrong with it works great off a regular 120V AC plug for most jobs. Im selling my first two cheaper welders from the other brands, heed my advice and you wont have to sell or give away a welder later... So, dear shopper, decide if you can, how far you do want to go with your welding, what processes you want to do, and your budget. For me, spending 200 on a tool is a lot. 500 is really alot. But if you want to learn and do more than a few minor steel repairs here and there, save yourself the aggravation and money of buying a cheaper machine you will just end up upgrading from, and go for this one or maybe even a better one. This is a great all around value for most people. i have found that for every 100 dollars more you spend on the machine, it has a realatively proportionate return on its ability and performance. If you know you are going to want to learn more, just get the best machine you can afford to start, in the 500 dollar range this machine will not dissapoint you. I dont think most folks will outgrow this machine unless you are specifically interested in extra advanced 3rd level TIG where "lift" start is still too unrefined. Note: You do NOT need a clumsy spool gun to weld aluminum with this and most other quality Multiprocess MIG welders, just buy the Arc Captain teflon or graphene gun hose liner for around 20 bucks, its really pretty simple and cheap to set up, watch some videos on this. Also note.. theres no point in buying any fancier more expensive machine beyond simple flux core and stick /mma features unless you are prepared to invest in a tank of argon and a regulator. Regs are cheap, under 30 for a nice one. The unit comes with a nice hose. Tanks you need to research, but best thing i found is just go to your local welding shop and buy a used tank filled and trade in. If you buy a used tank at a garage sale, be sure its not leased, (company name stamped on neck). Also of note: This MIG gun uses readily available Lincoln 100 series type disposables / tips, and both size wire spools. Nice selection of feed rollers included, a lighted spool cabinet and a refined all-metal tensioner / feeder are nice features. It works well off 120vac but wants a 20amp circuit, it will pop 15amp gfci circuits. It does not like extension cords under 10 gauge. Like most dual voltage machines, it works better off a 50 amp 240 V AC supply if available, and adapters to run off most clothes dryer outlets (240V 30 amp) found in most homes and garages are easily found here on Amazon for around $25 and work great up to about 80% power, which covers 95% of jobs. ... show more

  • Versatile welder undermined by misleading marketing and cost-cutting component choices
Size: MIG Welder 200A with Pulse
Got this welder to try out some new types of welds. It performs adequately for basic MIG work. Setup is straightforward and the controls are clear and intuitive. The MIG welding operates smoothly and the digital display provides useful feedback about settings and performance. The machine functions reliably as a basic MIG and stick. However, I've got a few issues with this. The "7-in-1" marketing is misleading as the machine only handles MIG, stick, and flux-core without additional items. TIG capability requires separate equipment not included. Aluminum welding needs a spool gun. The pulse feature, marketed as a primary advantage over standard models, only works in synergic mode and you cant adjust the parameters. You get whats programmed. The cost-cutting is apparent in component choices. The ground cable uses CCA wire instead of copper, which can overheat and melt under full power. The stick lead is similarly problematic as it uses CCA. The spool holder is not built to hold a 10Lbs spools (even though it says it can) so you're stuck with only a 2Lbs spool. At $500, or even the coupon price of $430, I think this machine is overpriced given the missing capabilities, misleading marketing, and cheap component choices. I dont think the true functionality justifies the cost unless you already have the other parts necessary to use the other features. ... show more
