First-ever TIG does not disappoint

I did a lot of research on an economical TIG to purchase for a first-time TIG welder. The ArcCaptain 200p kept coming up. Surprising even experienced welders for its functionality vs price. So, I took the dive! Annnnd… it did not disappoint! Right out of the box I hooked up a new argon tank, threw together my rig and got to welding - after all, now I needed to build a welding cart for my Lincoln MIG, this TIG, and two cylinders! It’s small, lightweight, and packed with enough power to keep hobbyists and DIY’ers busy and having fun! The price point was right on with wanting to teach myself to TIG while not breaking the bank and worrying it’s a waste if I find TIG isn’t for me or I break it while making all the “newbie TIG welder” mistakes. Pictures of my first two projects: the new welding cart for MIG & TIG machines plus two cylinders, a TIG torch holder, and a new custom exhaust for my truck. The torch and power cable are a bit “heavy” compared to other brands but a new lightweight CK flex hose costs almost as much as this amazing 5-in-1 powerhouse. Now with time behind the gun I will say there’s an upgraded power cable and torch head on order. But the 17-series torch and power cable will be in the cabinet as a backup or to beat on for teaching my boys to TIG. I have already purchased and been using ArcCaptain’s foot controller that works seamlessly with this unit (see my other reviews for that one). Keep up the phenomenal products ArcCaptain!

Good tool package well in a thick foam .

Works better that I thought.good for small to medium projects.worked for about 1.5 hours at ~5inches of weld on 1/4 mild steel. With a brief inspection in-between each weld. Took about 20 min to cool down. Was just practicing under the shade of a large tree

Take on your arc enemy

I don’t even know how much good I could say about this machine. I fix art in the city and needed something that can run off my generator but still put out 120 A. The “Arco” smooth and the machine does not feel cheap. Small. But not cheap. Great little Tig welder.

Welders do it in all positions

Good TIG and STICK machine for the money (extra torch accessory kit shown not included). You have to peel the shipping plastic off the display to make it readable, that nearly got me!

The welder works the tig cable is very very heavy and stiff very hard to weld with. I have tried to contact arccaptain 2 but they well not respond I cannot Recommend arccaptain equipment they do not back there equipment do not buy.

Poor display reduced to 4 star.

This is DC only Tig welder, so it's not aluminum capapable. So far it's run very well. Negatives: (1)display dim and hard to read. (2) you can't save multiple setting which is a drawback because it's a struggle to input setting using the dim display. Positives: high frequency start, pulse, timer. Stick welding nice for typical inverter rods with hot start and arc force. My mig welder has a spool gun which meets my aluminum welding needs so I don't mind this being a DC only welder. You will likely want to eventually replace the ground cable.
