The media could not be loaded. I’ve only welded twice in my life. I first tried a handheld TIG welder on my muffler (it had separated at the seam) but it kept burning through the thin metal. I bought this ARC Captain MIG 135 and used it with the flux-core wire it came with and it is much easier to work with. I have never used a MIG welder before but I had this set up and ready to weld in roughly 10 minutes. It only has 3 buttons so it’s not overwhelming for beginners. It’s relatively small, feels high quality, and I like the digital display. My welds are ugly but they did the job on the seam of my muffler (as seen in video). Took me a little bit to figure out a decent method but overall it went better than my tig welding attempts. The only small downside is that I wanted to store it back in the box and didn’t want to disconnect the gun since I would have to refeed the wire later. That says more about me than the welder though lol. If you’re a DIYer or trying to learn how to weld (like me) this welder is a solid choice. Easy to use, works well, and it’s not too expensive.

I haven’t welded since 7th grade shop class where we had a stick welder. Got this for a small trailer welding project. Worked great. Was messing around with some scraps. All settings were intuitive or automatic. Great value. Super easy. Nice welds even for a guy that has never welded.

The media could not be loaded. I have been really impressed with the ArcCaptain MIG200 multi-process welder. I bought this welder as an upgrade and replacement for my old Millermatic 140 welder. This ArcCaptain welder has so much more versatility, adjustment, and power compared to the old basic transformer MIG welder I'm coming from. The build quality is excellent, although it may not be as durable as a big name brand, but for DIY hobby use in the garage it will be more than tough enough. The welder comes with almost everything you need to MIG or stick weld out of the box. The only items you'll need to pick up are your MIG wire, shielding gas (unless you run flux-core wire), a gas regulator, or your stick welding electrodes. The welder comes with extra MIG consumables and uses standard tweco style contact tips readily available. 3 different styles of wire drive rolls are provided; V-groove for solid wire, knurled groove for flux wire, and U-groove for aluminum wire. Unfortunately ArcCaptain appears to have a packaging issue though because even with 7 drive rolls included in the kit none of them have a groove sized for running 0.035" (0.9mm) wire of any type. Hopefully they correct this issue in the future. This welder welds nicely and creates an easy to control weld bead. I'm a little rusty with my handwork so the inconsistencies in my test welds were the result of my own travel speed issues and not the welder. The Synergistic MIG functionality is really nice and provides a really good starting point for MIG weld settings. The one thing that ArcCaptain completely fails to mention in their user manual though is that when your in Synergistic mode you MUST set the AMPERAGE level appropriate for the material thickness being welded and then the machine will adjust the voltage and wire feed speed accordingly. For any beginner, just follow this rule of thumb and use 1 Amp for ever 0.001" of material thickness (ex. for welding 1/8" thick steel start with the welder set to 125A in synergistic mode and adjust the voltage from there if the weld is too hot/cold for your liking). My only minor complaints about the welder, aside from the missing 0.035" drive rolls, are that ArcCaptain didn't include a MIG setup chart sticker inside the door cover (which is standard practice on all MIG machines), and that the unit comes wired for 110V input and they provide a 110V to 220V adapter cable. I think this practice of passing 220V through a 110V plug is poor design and may even be a violation of certain electrical safety codes. The better design would've been to have a 220V cable wired to the unit and adapt down to a 110V plug when needed. Overall this ArcCaptain MIG200 welder is a great value for all of the functionality it provides. It provides many more advanced features typically reserved for welders 2-3X the price of this unit. ArcCaptains support team has also been very helpful and responsive to my emails and the customer support is excellent for an international company. I'd highly recommend this welder to anyone looking for an excellent value multi-process MIG welder.

The media could not be loaded. *I WILL UPDATE THIS WHEN I’VE RUN THE MACHINE LONGER* These are just my initial thoughts on the Arccaptain Mig200 I’ve tried the Mig setting using some 0.030 flux core wire. Setting up the wire is super easy and almost impossible to mess up. The stinger it comes with is actually pretty nice for what your get, and the mig gun could be a little better quality, but they’ll both work! This machine has 3 knobs and 6 buttons.. I’m 26 and I’m not a huge fan of machines having screens, so figuring out how to use this thing was a pain in the rear to me When I was able to actually weld with it, it was super nice and didn’t have any hooks ups… other than trying to figure out temperature and wire speed. I’ll update this when I’ve got at least another 6 months of use From it.

The media could not be loaded. Ive had this Mig200 for over 2 years now and can't believe I have not left a review yet. Out of the box, it was easy enough to set up following the directions and get right to mig welding. I have used it with gas and flux core with excellent results. Small diameter blue demon wire with gas has done a few floorboards and body repairs. With flux core it is more than sufficient for angle iron or farm work. The arc burns 6013s like butter, great for plates. I was skeptical about inverter type welders but arccaptain makes a damn good one. Next on my list is one of their TIGs. They make an attachment for the Mig 200 but a stand alone TIG keeps your finish welder out of the slag path. This company is legit! If I had to pick a downside, it would be the ground clamp. It's a bit flimsy but online or HF you can get a beefy brass one cheap. Not worth deducting a star because it still is fully functional.

This has got to be the best welder for the money on the market. You don't have to have 220 but I put it in my garage, leased a tank of C-10 and haven't regretted it. The pre programed options are great but you can fine tune it to whatever you are welding. I can't speak on "in the field use" but for garage projects this welder is perfect. Build quality is great, doest feel light or cheap like the Harbor freight welders. I've always looked at reviews prior to buying, the videos and reviews don't lie on this welder. I'm very satisfied with this welder. Stop looking and buy this one.
