This little welder works better than I ever thought possible for anything so inexpensive. I have a TIG welder, but I love having this welder for quick jobs. It is tomy. I can use it anywhere in the shop or outside and I can run it off my battery&inverter so it is very portable. Something that may not be obvious is that you can fine tune voltage manually. My welds don't look great yet, but a bit more experience should fix that. I am running Blue Demon E71T-11 .035 wire.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve only welded twice in my life. I first tried a handheld TIG welder on my muffler (it had separated at the seam) but it kept burning through the thin metal. I bought this ARC Captain MIG 135 and used it with the flux-core wire it came with and it is much easier to work with. I have never used a MIG welder before but I had this set up and ready to weld in roughly 10 minutes. It only has 3 buttons so it’s not overwhelming for beginners. It’s relatively small, feels high quality, and I like the digital display. My welds are ugly but they did the job on the seam of my muffler (as seen in video). Took me a little bit to figure out a decent method but overall it went better than my tig welding attempts. The only small downside is that I wanted to store it back in the box and didn’t want to disconnect the gun since I would have to refeed the wire later. That says more about me than the welder though lol. If you’re a DIYer or trying to learn how to weld (like me) this welder is a solid choice. Easy to use, works well, and it’s not too expensive.

I used my 135 today for the first time and it surprised me. I have had several nice welders but sold them all after I had a stroke. I am a DIY kind of guy and needed to weld some small projects so I bought this welder. It works great but at this price I didn't expect Miller or Lincoln quality and I was not surprised at some of the cheapness of the parts. I had to put tape on the gun hose at the welder because it was seperating from the fitting. I also found that I needed at least a 20 Amp CB or it would trip my CB. I welded my project and was happy with the quality of the weld. I have no clue why there is a nozzle since it isn't needed and I removed it for a better view of the weld. The manual is not very good but it is easy to figure out. One thing that is not mentioned is the rotating knob is also a push button to change modes on the screen.

I typically don't write reviews but I had to write a review for this particular product. I'm a first time welder and I was hesitant to buy a welding because I wasn't sure that I would have the skill set to be able to weld. The ArcCaptain machine made welding easy. It was a little bit of a challenge to set up the mig wire but I eventually got through the process. I did have to spend a considerable amount of time practicing before I started my actual weld project. I would highly recommend that first time welders do this. My initial welds have not been pretty but they were effective. I can tell that I will only get better with time. Thank you ArcCaptain!

I am definitely not a welder, but I have used this machine with both flux core wire and welding rods and I think it's a pretty nice machine with pretty easy adjustments. Perfect for my very occasional needs!
