    • Very nice but be careful with screws
This is a gorgeous unit. Was pretty easy to put together. I would recommend using a hand screwdriver and if you mess up and have to take screws out you will need wood glue to help. The stool is very nice and comfortable. The riser makes it look 100% better imo. Took me back to the arcade days playing Killer Instinct. C-c-c-c-combo breaker!!! ... show more

I was skeptical at first because if you are old enough to have played the original arcade game, as I have, I would think that there was no way this game could have the same look or feel or sound - but it is! The product is exactly as it is described. I read 1 of the other reviews where the person complained about the sound. My sound is amazing and clear. And can be turned up very loud without any type of distortion. As my pictures show, my box was in good shape when delivered. I didn't have any real issues with lining up all the panels. As the instructions say, I do suggest that you don't use an electric drill. These panels are very delicate and can be split easily if you screw too tight. The instructions are very easy to follow. The panels and hardware are all marked perfectly. I also suggest that you build it on a rug or carpet to prevent the panels from being scratched. And maybe I didn't read all the description but I didn't realize it came with Killer Instinct 2! There's also a bonus game that sucks, but I didn't buy it for that game LOL. Both Killer Instinct 1 & 2 play EXACTLY like I remembered. I am completely satisfied with the purchase. ... show more

    • Arcade1Up is getting better
I have an Arcade1Up unit from a few years back. The joysticks and buttons were terrible (to the point where I had no choice but to change them for Sanwa knock-offs that were dirt cheap, but still somehow infinitely better). Fast forward to the KI machine. I think the stick and button quality still isn't quite to the Sanwa level, but they are definitely good enough that I don't feel like I need to change them. One big issue I'm having is with the speakers. When the unit is off, I get static and pops from them. My solution was to buy a smart outlet to I can cut power completely to the cab when not in use. Really wish I didn't have to do that. Overall, happy with the machine. The emulation seems pretty good (I'm fortunate enough to have an actual KI arcade machine, so I was able to make a side by side comparison) and the extra options are nice. I just wish that Arcade1Up could just improve their QC a bit more. ... show more

I’ll start with the GOOD: cabinet was is in great shape. Games play excellent. Easy to assemble. Just looks incredible in the room. Perfect height for playing standing up. The BAD: side panels are two pieces and difficult to align parts up. The speakers sound low and muffled. Screws are cheap and will contort under pressure, creating sharp edges randomly. Decals are not aligned properly, mine will need trimmed with a razor blade. Overall it was a great value. One of my favorite games ever.
