Easy to switch out the component and get working like new in just a couple of minutes. However, I did not give 5 stars because, as others have commented, it is very wasteful replacing the whole component whereas all that is really needed are the 2 rubber cups that could very easily be replaced.

You can not purchase the rubber caps in these pumps and if they go bad this is only part you a buy to get it working. Customer service was fair but did not offer tossed replacement in the first 2 years

I can't understand why they don't offer just the replacement rubber parts. They are the only things that wears out! They make you buy the entire unit which is a waste. The rubber bulbs can easily be replace and come off with one small bolt. You throw away the entire unit because they force you to. At least have a mail in program where the factory replaces only the worn parts. Guess they don't give a damn about the environment... Maybe a third party will come to the rescue and offer replacement parts... ... show more

The replacement cartridge was easy and quick to replace. I replaced it the summer of 2013, and that one only lasted till this summer of 2014. I was told by a rep at Aquascape that the average life of the cartridge is only about a year. It works fine but replacing every year can add up. Next year I will probably go with a more professional air pump rather than replacing the cartridge every year. ... show more
