The year was 2019. It was a day, just like any other day but I was feeling like my fish tank needed some new residents. I decided to introduce two Black Oscars into my tank. They were so small and beautiful, what could go wrong?? The answer? Everything. It was chaos. They were mean... they were big.. and they were hungry. Their names were Dolce & Gabbana. They murdered almost every fish in my tank. They bit the plecos by their heads and shook them until the bottom of my tank was littered with lifeless corpses. When I would attempt to feed them, these monsters would JUMP out of the tank. Upon one of these fish suicide attempts, I broke the lid to my 55 gallon tank in a rushed attempt to save this stupid fish. Now, getting to what I know you are all reading this review for - the new tank lids. Oh, they're good. They fit perfectly on my tank, pretty thick glass & the handles attach easily. What I loved is that the company reached out to me after my purchase to verify the size before they shipped. Well done, sellers! Long story short, I got rid of Dolce and Gabbana. Back to the fish store? Released into the wilderness? Served with a nice risotto and a light cream sauce? I'll never tell. All you need to know is I now have a tank of friendly, non murderous fish with a very nice glass top. The End.

When I purchased these glass covers, I did it with my fingers crossed. I wasn't absolutely certain that they'd fit. Very shortly after I placed my order, I got a call from the seller. He introduced himself and then confirmed my order. He wanted to make sure that the glass pieces I ordered would fit properly across the top of my aquarium. So I re-measured, and told him that my tank was 12.5" x 48", 55 gallon. (I ordered the 13"W x 48"L set.) I also told him the measurements on the top where the glass would fit. I have a hanging filter across the back on one side. Each piece of the glass fixtures comes with a plastic "flap" that attaches to the long side of them. On the side without my filter, I attached that plastic flap and it fit absolutely perfectly. On the side with the filter, I didn't add the plastic flap and it fit perfectly, leaving room for the filter. It also comes with plastic handles (with 3M glue strips attached) to stick to the glass to create the handles. In my photo, I have a 48" LED light bar hovering slightly above the glass pieces. When I bought the aquarium, it had the standard black plastic hood that was a lot of trouble to keep clean. Additionally, the lighting with the original hood was terrible. With these glass pieces, I was able to use my large light bar. As a result, my aquarium is super bright, and those glass pieces will be a breeze to clean. The packaging was outstanding. I think a tank could have rolled over the box and the glass wouldn't have cracked! LOL I highly recommend this product from THIS seller. Like I said, he called me almost immediately after my order was placed to make sure they sent the correct size to me. Then he texted me to let me know when my order was shipped. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXCELLENT PRODUCT!

I have a standard 10 gal. Aqueon tank. I was upgrading the lights to the Aqueon LED light fixtures, however the store was out of the glass top; so I bought this top instead. A couple days later, the I went back to the store and they had restocked on the Aqueon brand glass top; with the Blue Spotted glass top still on the way, I decided to buy the Aqueon from the store and initiated the return for this Blue Spotted top. However, I found out the Aqueon branded glass top was too big and the front and back glass pieces where the same size; so the light fixture sat over the hinge (making it really hard to feed). After the Blue Spotted top arrived a few days later, I decided to try it before i sent it back. First off, it was the correct size and fits better inside the black ring than the Aqueon brand glass top in the Aqueon tank. Also the back glass piece is bigger than the front, so the light fixture sits behind the hinge.

After months of searching for a (nice looking) properly fitting cover for my 55 gallon tank, I finally found this. It fits perfectly and gives you space in the back to custom cut openings for accessories. Since I have put this on my tank a couple weeks ago, water loss from evaporation has been drastically reduced AND the water is much cleaner (no more debris and dust building on the water's surface!) The sound of trickling water has also been reduced. This tank canopy looks really clean and nice - it's worth every cent in my opinion. (Also, the seller called me before delivery to ensure my tank dimensions were correct - very thoughtful.)
