First hour wearing…have noticed band texture to be a little annoying
Color: Dark Bronze Aluminum w/ Dark Bronze Mila...
Size: 42mm case + Small/Medium band
Style: GPS
Configuration: Without AppleCare+
I just placed this watch on my wrist today and have only worn it for about an hour. Upgraded from a series six. At the moment, my initial impression is good, although, I must say that I’m a little disappointed in the comfort of the extra pricey band. The band fits well and looks classy, but the textu
re seems to be a little irritating to the skin, so if you have skin that is sensitive to texture, then you may want to keep that in mind when choosing your band style. I’ll come back to update my review over the next few days to give updated reports about my impressions on other features as I get to know this watch.

Received in good condition. Works as expected/advertised. It is slightly difficult to use and appreciate the many funtions/features offered by this watch. It does take some getting accustomed to. But I do recommend it.

It's a great upgrade if you have an older watch...
Color: Dark Bronze Aluminum Case with Olive Spo...
Size: 42mm case + Small/Medium band
Style: GPS
Configuration: Without AppleCare+
⌚ I already had a Series 9 45mm but I found over time that it was bigger than I preferred, especially if you put a case on, which adds ~2mm. Since I wanted to upgrade, I got the Dark Bronze with a 42mm case this time. There weren't any defects with the construction of the watch. I did an extremely th
orough inspection of it directly under a bright lamp. It did arrive a little dirtier than I expected of Apple, the back of the watch (sensor side) had some cloudy residue and smudges on the zirconia, but it cleans with a damp microfiber towel easily. ⌚ I attached pictures showing the case size differences between Series 9 45mm and Series 12 42mm, with guidelines so you can eyeball the difference. It's obviously smaller due to being 42mm instead of 45mm, but also thinner, because Series 12 comes after Series 10, which was when they actually made them thinner. ⌚ The watch I received was made in Vietnam, band was made in China. 🎨 The "Dark Bronze" finish is beautiful, it's nice that they went with a "dark" shade for this, it's very easy to go too bright or cartoony with brown, it would look awful or loud. This shade is high class, professional, sophisticated, reminiscent of bronze statues, art, ancient civilizations. If you're someone who usually prefers a darker palette, where your past choices might have been Space Black, Midnight, this would be perfect for you if you wanted to take a step toward adding more color to your palette, while still leaving one foot in the dark. 👑 The crown on Series 12 was widely discussed as protruding outward ("it looks like Shrek's ear") more than on prior watches. In person it... matches what I saw and was already expecting, yeah it's a bit out there but I don't really mind it. If you're going to use a bumper case like I do, it isn't a big deal and it's actually preferable, since if you had a case on without the protruding crown it would actually be recessed into the case, making it harder to grasp especially if your fingers are big. With a TPU clear bumper case on (the ones without screen protection) it just barely clears the side of the case, doesn't protrude at all. If you're going to apply a TPU/EPU screen protector (the flexible ones): 🫧 After applying it perfectly you can still have air bubbles. The big ones can be massaged out using the included microfiber towel between your finger and the screen, or the squeegee, push the bubble toward the closest edge with a firm press toward that direction, do this repeatedly, it will make its way to the edge slowly, then out. 🫧 For smaller air bubbles (possibly left by massaging big air bubbles), just leave them alone! Don't think the screen protector failed and don't peel it off! Just wait. If you wait about six hours they disappear on their own. I had about six to eight small bubbles that I was convinced would be there forever, but they magically disappeared after waiting, the screen protector is now 100% void-free. You can still use your new watch while waiting. I also replaced the screen protector on my Series 9 afterward since it was starting to peel on the edges, that one had even more bubbles after application, I had to wait an entire day for those to disappear, possibly because those screen protectors were old, but they did eventually disappear. 👎👎 Also two thumbs way down for the September device rollout, it was a disgrace, the new Series 12 and Ultra 4 watches crashing as much as four times a day, new iPhone 18 Pros crashing on Face ID repeatedly, the issue was so bad, generating such negative press, that they released an emergency WatchOS 27.0.1 hotfix on 9/24/26 and they just now released an emergency iOS 27.0.1 hotfix for the Face ID. Until they released the patch I was of the opinion that nobody should buy the new watches yet, since we weren't even sure if it was a hardware defect. It's unacceptable for a trillion dollar company to fail so badly. I held off on opening the watch until after the 27.0.1 hotfix was released, since opening it I've not experienced a single crash, so the hotfix appears to have worked. Some miscellaneous things that might not be obvious: ❓ You may want to test that all of the LEDs on the back side of the watch light up properly. To do this run a Blood Oxygen test, while it's running check the back, don't move it too much or it will interrupt the test. You should see all of the LEDs lit up solidly, not blinking, four red, four green, in an an alternating arrangement. You can also do this in front of a bathroom mirror to be able to see the back of the watch without moving it. ❓ Use the flashlight mode in the Control Center if you want to test for dead or live pixels. You can swipe between a fully white and a fully red screen, which should be enough to check if you have dead or live pixels on the display. ❓ It comes with a Siri Modular watch face, this is a special variant of the Modular watch face with a special color that matches the case color you picked (ex: "Dark Bronze"), compared to Modular the center complication can't be specified (it uses whatever is pinned to top of smart stack), and it lacks the ability to specify an upper left complication. ❓ Series 12 and Ultra 4 have two new exclusive complications, "Daily Steps" and "Heart Rate", the older watches don't have "Daily Steps" at all, they did have "Heart Rate", but their version was just an app switcher (tapping the complication takes you to the Heart Rate app), the new "Heart Rate" complication shows you the real-time numeric heart rate value using the new continuous heart rate feature, so you might want to pick those as some of your complications, since they're exclusive to your new watch. ❓ The new watches track steps more accurately than older watches, on older watches you had to swing your wrist to get it to track steps (some people cheated steps by just sitting and swinging their wrist), now it no longer does, you can swing your wrist and it registers nothing, you must really move your legs now.

I went from a series 4 to this. HOLY CRAP the difference lol. Great battery life, super easy to pair and personalize, and looks great with a case and matching band. I went with a band that’s metal mesh because the original band bothers my skin, and it fits great and never stinks. I love this watch!

Sleek and helpful for tracking fitness activities

Overall, I like having the ability to track my activity in my fitness. It's also hopeful with phone calls, messages, and music when I can't necessarily rely on my phone or use my phone when I'm multitasking/working out.
