Given the abuse phones take the case is ok, this case lasts about a year for me. The silicon eventually breaks down and then reveals the plastic shell. It was priced right here and is the same case I received from the apple store twice, just a better price on Amazon. $40 is a bit much given how quickly the silicone wears from going in and out of a pocket. Why do I keep buying it? The fit is good and I do drop my phone from time to time and silicone provides that cushion along with the inside of the case. Very nice Apple brand case. Slimmer and lighter than the other brands that sell lots of creative cases, and easy to hold onto. Unlike some that are smooth plastic, this is a more rubbery feel that provides better grip. Plain red color works for many different seasons and outfits.
