🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID is generally well reviewed, with buyers praising its high build quality, sleek design, and fingerprint recognition feature. Some users point out the convenience of the this feature for quickly logging in. However, a notable downside is the absence of a backlight feature for the keys.

Pros

  • 👍 Excellent build Quality
  • 👍 Light and portable design suitable for travel
  • 👍 Quiet and comfortable typing experience
  • 👍 Smooth and efficient Touch ID feature

Cons

  • 👎 Lack of backlighting for the keys
  • 👎 Bluetooth signal could be stronger for better wireless connectivity
  • 👎 Slightly overpriced as compared to other models

Should I Buy It?

If you're an active Mac user who values a secure and efficient login process through Touch ID, and don't mind the absence of backlighting, then the Apple Magic Keyboard would be a good investment for you. If, however, a backlit keyboard for easy night use or stronger wireless connectivity is critical for you, it may be better to consider another model.

  • The Best Keyboard for Mac Users, Period!
Style: Lightning Color: Black Keys
I've been using the Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad for a while now and it has completely elevated my desk setup. It's one of those accessories that just works exactly the way you'd expect from Apple. The typing experience is smooth and satisfying. The keys have a nice low profile feel with just enough travel to make extended typing sessions comfortable without any fatigue. Once you get used to it there's really no going back. Touch ID is a game changer for a desktop keyboard. Unlocking your Mac and authorizing purchases with just a fingerprint tap is incredibly convenient and works instantly every single time. The numeric keypad is a great addition for anyone who works with numbers regularly. Having it built in keeps the layout clean while adding real functionality. Battery life is excellent. Since I purchased it has been updated to charge via USB-C and a single charge lasts a long time, so it's rarely something you have to think about. ... show more

  • Beautiful design, Apple build quality, & TouchID! Expensive but worth the $$$.
Style: Lightning Color: White Keys
Likes: Beautiful Design: The Magic Keyboard has a sleek, minimalist design that complements my Apple devices perfectly. It looks great on my desk and adds a touch of elegance to my workspace. Excellent Quality: The build quality is outstanding, as expected from Apple. The keyboard feels durable and well-constructed. Key Travel and Feel: The key travel and tactile feedback are just right. Typing on this keyboard is a pleasure, with just the right amount of click sound. TouchID: I came from the Satechi X3 Slim, which was much cheaper and almost as good in many areas. However, the TouchID on the Magic Keyboard is worth the upgrade. It’s a huge difference compared to having to reach over and use the MacBook’s keyboard when it’s docked. The convenience of quickly unlocking my Mac and authorizing payments with a touch is invaluable. Dislikes: Lack of Risers: I wish it had risers to lift the front of the keyboard just a bit. This would improve the typing angle and overall comfort. Price: The keyboard is expensive. While it offers excellent features and quality, the cost may be a consideration for some. Others have praised the Magic Keyboard for its easy connectivity, battery life, and overall performance. The TouchID feature is frequently highlighted as a significant advantage, especially for those using their Mac in clamshell mode. Some are upset about no backlighting and lightning cord charging. I concur with them on all accounts, but ultimately the pros outweigh the cons. It's the best keyboard choice for Mac. If you don't mind the budget, you won't regret getting one. ... show more

  • Great keyboard
Style: Lightning Color: Black Keys
I bought this because I loved my MacBook keyboard so much and switched to an external monitor setup rather than just the laptop itself, it works great! Also wanted the numeric keyboard. I did have some lagging issues after about a week in, but that was resolved by plugging it into my MacBook and letting it be connected for about a day (could have been a low battery issue). Other than that, I have no complaints, I love the Touch ID on it because before, I was typing my password in every time because I put my Mac in clamshell mode. I do have to charge it more frequently than I thought but I really only have to every week and a half to two weeks, though I am out of school right now and am using it a lot less than I normally do during school time, so well see how long that time frame is once I start using it more. The only thing I would add would be a backlit keyboard, not a necessity, but something that would be nice for late at night, but my monitor lights up the keyboard enough to use it, would just be a nice feature to see. I will admit, I am biased because I love Apple products, I chose to buy this one for sixty bucks more (it was on sale) than a Logitech one simply because it was Apple and it also had the Touch ID. Ok, one other request, I wish it also charged via USB-C rather than Lightening because that would just make life a whole lot easier because I plan on keeping this for a while and everything lightening is going away because of the EU. But then again, I chose to buy it on a sale price rather than wait a couple months for them to release a new one. In conclusion, I truly do love this keyboard, but get it when it is on sale because even on the sale price, it is hard to justify. But the key point to this is that the only reason you should buy this over a Logitech one is because of that Touch ID, if you cannot use that or don't use it a bunch, don't buy it. ... show more

  • THis keyboard is worht the spend
Style: Lightning Color: White Keys
Okay, let's be clear about one thing, we pay a nice premium for the Apple logo. Having said that, this keyboard is still a good value. It was easy to connect to my Mac. Once done it gets rediscovered quickly when turning the computer on. The slight wedge in the design does make using it a bit more comfortable. Another nice feature is that the keyboard has a finger print button so I don't have to reach for the computer to use that. As far as I can tell they battery life is fine, I haven't had any issues with the keyboard dying or posting messages about low power. It also has an on/off switch which also helps conserve power. Recharging is simple with the cable that came with the keyboard. I have multiple devices on my desk, Windows and Mac so having the cordless keyboard helps keep clutter and tangles to a minimum. ... show more

  • One of the best keyboards I’ve ever used.
Style: Lightning Color: Black Keys
The build quality is phenomenal, but I expect nothing less from Apple. It’s also incredibly light, which is great if you’re traveling with it often. The keys have a very satisfying (yet not overbearing) click, and the key height makes fast typing a breeze. Each key has a really nice contour, and it feels excellent to type on. It’s very easy pair with MacBooks and iMacs. Just plug in the lighting side of the cable to the keyboard, and the USB-C side to your Mac, switch the keyboard on, and voilà. I was a bit nervous that I wouldn’t like the angle of the keyboard, but it feels more natural than any keyboard I’ve used. And Touch-ID works so effortlessly on it too. I expected a bit of latency, but nope! Flawless. The keyboard looks very sleek, feels great, and outputs very little noise. I highly recommend the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID for any Mac user. You’ll love it! My only complaint is that it’s not backlit. For a $200 keyboard, a backlight should be included. Hopefully Apple will realize that error and include it on the next Magic Keyboard revison. ... show more

  • Exceptional Keyboard with Touch ID
Style: Lightning Color: Black Keys
The Apple Magic Keyboard is fantastic! The typing experience is smooth and responsive, with just the right amount of key travel. The addition of Touch ID is a game-changer—logging in and making purchases with a fingerprint is so convenient. I also love having the numeric keypad, which makes it ideal for spreadsheets and data entry. The battery life is impressive; I only need to recharge it every few weeks, even with daily use. It connects easily over Bluetooth without any lag, keeping my workspace cable-free. If you’re an Apple user looking for a premium, efficient keyboard, this one’s a perfect choice. Pros: Touch ID for secure logins and purchases Comfortable typing experience with responsive keys Numeric keypad, great for productivity Long-lasting battery life Wireless Bluetooth connectivity for a clutter-free workspace Cons: Higher price compared to other keyboards Only fully compatible with macOS ... show more

  • Expensive but Amazing
Style: Lightning Color: White Keys
I honestly hesitated so much to buy this. It seemed nuts to pay this much for a keyboard. I looked everywhere for a fingerprint scanning keyboard but couldn’t find one. So I bit the bullet and ordered this one. My bank account felt it, but this keyboard is the highest quality keyboard I have ever seen! It’s smooth and flawless. The keys are so comfortable that I actually want to type all the time. The connection to my computer was seamless and not once has there been any issues connecting or any lag. It’s lightweight and solid. Comes with a cord to charge it but I’ve used it for weeks and the battery hasn’t dropped. If you type a lot or need a fingerprint scanner, this keyboard is the best. ... show more

  • BEST KEYBOARD EVER! SILENT, SLEEK & FAST!
Style: Lightning Color: Black Keys
As a long-time Apple user who also has purchased tech/computer products from other brands, I always come back to Apple for their highest quality & efficient products. It is expensive but so worth the money. I had bought a cheaper typewriter USB keyboard and one of the letter stickers came off after a few months. I also was getting tired of the loud typewriter sound (yes, I go through phases on what I like/dislike). I currently use a Mac Mini Studio (as well as an iPhone and iPad) and this keyboard works perfectly! ... show more
