  • Great Laptop
This is my second MacBook Air with the previous one finally starting to show signs of its age after 8 years of use. This laptop is a great improvement to the previous version and even more portable and lightweight. As personal preference I like laptops more that iPads and have owed both - Apple really mades great products that stand the test of time vs the traditional PC's that are out there. The battery life is amazing and I really like the keyboard on this device over the previous model. I have owned this device for the last few months without any issue. Finally, I really like that this laptop doesn't get hot and there is no fan as the M1 chip is a drastic improvement over the previous Intel processor. ... show more

  • More powerful than my Intel MacBook Pro with an all-day battery.
In five years, I've had two different generations of Intel-based MacBook Pro for work. When it came time to buy a new personal laptop, I knew I wanted a MacBook, but preferred something lighter than a MacBook Pro. I also wanted better battery life, but really didn't want to skimp on raw compute power. It turns out the MacBook Air M1 is super light, way faster, more memory efficient, cooler running and has a battery that can last all day without a charge. True, processor intensive stuff will deplete the battery faster, but for web surfing and office productivity stuff, yes, it'll last all day. Yes, I use it for the usual stuff... surf the web, check email, social media, YouTube, Netflix, create and edit office documents, etc. But I really bought it to run FM3 Edit for my Fractal Audio FM3 and to record guitar, bass drum, keyboard and vocal tracks using Reaper Digital Audio Workstation. The MacBook Air M1 does all of these things extremely well and without breaking a sweat. Would I buy it again? In an instant. If you are a digital audio content creator and undecided, get off the fence and get the MacBook Air M1. ... show more

  • Great Value Laptop
Great value for the money spent. Very fast and capable laptop. Using for college and computer science/cybersecurity for the past 7 months and is able to handle multiple virtual machines and windows open simultaneously without heating up. The M1 chip is still a great buy even with the newer models out. ... show more

  • Better than expected
I have always been a Windows guy, but recently I've been less than ecstatic with performance and longevity of my Windows machines. It has been several years since I had a Windows laptop that worked as well and lasted as long as it should. When the brand new Windows 11 beast I ordered started randomly locking up and requiring restarts every 5 to 10 minutes during initial setup, I finally decided to try an Apple. I have an iPad that was required for a job and really liked it so I broke down and bought a MacBook. This little machine is fast. Instant on, no stutters or lag with memory intensive apps. It just does what I want it to do. I'm still adjusting to the Apple quirks - I can never remember to hold down the Command key when clicking links - but I'm learning. Add in the convenience of being able to use my iPad as a second screen and I'm really satisfied with this little machine. Still not sold on replacing my Pixel, but I'm an Apple guy for everything else, I think. ... show more

  • Incredible performance, amazing battery life.
Mind-blowing performance, all the while remaining cool. For comparison, my 10-gen i7 (Dell) would heat up so bad I couldn't use it off my lap or carry it while holding its bottom. Smooth animations and quick boot times. Clear, crisp audio with deep bass. It also gets loud with no distortion. Amazing battery life - I'm getting 10-12 hours running a chromium browser with a lot of tabs open, a JetBrains IDE and several services running in the background. Laptop was well packaged to protect from damage in transit. ... show more
