I had not purchased an Amazon Refurbished product before. But we were looking for a large capacity 1TB iPhone 17 Pro, and didn't find one available for under $1300 + tax at local Apple Stores. With the new iPhones coming out at the end of the summer, we didn't want to pay full price, but our old iPhone was full and wasn't working very well. So, during Prime Day sales, we decided to order a Renewed Premium iPhone 17 Pro 1TB from Amazon. It wasn't available for next day or 2 day delivery, but the priced was great under $1300. When delivery came, I was waiting by the front door like a little kid during Christmas. I opened the Amazon box showing 2 items inside and I grabbed the Renewed Premium box and there was no shrink wrap, no sealed close tape to prevent the box from being opened. In my hast, I didn't even record the box opening process. I just flipped open the lid and was shocked to find an empty box with just a charge cable and no iPhone 17 Pro. I looked at the Amazon outside brown box to check for tampering, looked good, one layer of table, not cut open and resealed. I called Amazon Customer service immediately, she said the driver made a mistake and would deliver it the following day (a weekend delivery). My order showed as delivered. - about $1300 and all I had was an emplty box with a USB-C charge cable. That's it. Did I just make the biggest mistake on this on-line order? Why didn't I. record opening the box? I felt bad, and thought driver error??? No way, the outside brown box was sealed. The refurbished box had to have been tampered with in the packing and shipping stage, not during the delivery. I called Amazon Customer Service again, explaining the empty box. They asked for photos which I took shortly after the delivery. They agreed to send a replacement. We got the replacement and were quite happy with it's like new quality. No signs of use, no nics or scratches and it's battery was at 100% capacity with I think 1 cycle on it. Amazon came through with a great replacement. It took several hours to restore and then add it to our account. But all works great now. So, it was a little scary with no product in an empty box, but Amazon Customer Service (my second - third calls) did fix the order and it was a great deal. Look at the refurbished details carefully, and video opening the box and the package contents so you have some evidence on what was was actually in the box. Especially if it is not shrink wrapped or sealed with tape. My video of the replacement didn't show the shrink wrapping well in the photo grab of the opening of the shrink wrap. Thanks to my 2nd and 3rd contact of Customer Service to resolve this purchase. And PS the iPHone 17 Pro is awesome and has lot so space to record kids and concerts. ... show more

Very happy with this purchase and phone. Exceptional value (I would recommend shipped and sold by Amazon only). Phone was brand new with 2 charge cycles and in pristine condition and was unlocked. Only issue was the specific listing said it would come in original packaging (so I assumed original retail box), but it did not, came in a generic box with generic charging cable. I've had the pro max phones for years and was looking for something a bit more "portable" and less of a slab but still fully capable in terms of function, and glad I landed on this. So far, battery has been even better than my pro max, which I wasn't expecting (because it still had excellent battery in my opinion). Camera has been great, especially for night shots, which I appreciate. Overall, considering how phones/electronics are getting more and more expensive, I recommend going this route. Just make sure you get it shipped/sold directly from Amazon, as that seems to be the most reliable ... show more

I have an IPhone 17 pro max. Have been eyeing an orange 17 pro. Since I had a gift card I went ahead and took the gamble on purchasing a renewed premium device. At first glance the phone looked amazing. The screen was very responsive. Setup was quick. I was pleasantly surprised. Then came the update which was 3.3gb. The device became extremely hot during this process but I assumed this was just due to the large update. However, due to the new vapor chamber it should not get this hot. Still not a big issue. Then after setting up the device I began to test the functionality and to run some tests to see which components were repaired. Based on the parts history the logic board was repaired with genuine parts. A renewed premium device should not be a logic board replacement. The logic board is the brains of the phone that requires meticulous care in replacing and repairing. This only should be done by Apple. Since I do not know who did this repair and the quality of their work, I will be returning this device. Renewed premium devices should be basically cosmetic revitalizations. This device I received should be a renewed good at best given the risks associated the 3rd party logic board replacement. Also, another issue is returning this device. I sent my return 6/25 and have an anticipated refund due back to me on 8/1. I purchased this device directly from Amazon to prevent these types of issues. So, my money is tied up until they receive and inspect the item. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend buying renewed devices from Amazon. The big issue is what is done inside the phone and if true Apple products are used for the repair. For the price, just pay the extra 100 and get one new from Apple or buy Apple refurbished. ***Update my return and refund was processed 7/7. Pretty nice phone with very good cameras but I had issue with iOS where I could not upload photos/videos on apps anymore and I had to restart the phone all the time to make it work again. It got stuck on conversion process or something
