I was looking for a light hiking shoe and this one looked good and was not that expensive. At first I though these would be heavy and inflexible. Happily they are very comfortable.

I am a tall woman with long feet, so I have to buy men's shoes. It's hard for me to find shoes that are narrow enough in the heel that they don't slip off. Nike has typically been the only brand that I could find that worked for me, but these fit me perfectly and are very comfortable. I live in an area that is very sandy, and with previous shoes, I would always bring back a good teaspoon full of sand and tiny pebbles that I found to be really irritating to walk on. With previous shoes, the sand would work in through the fabric of the shoe. With these, the only timeI get sand in the shoe is if I'm wearing shorts and the sand gets kicked up into the heel of the shoe. I avoid that by wearing running gaiters that keep everything out. I probably sacrifice a bit of breathability because these shoes are waterproof, but honestly I'm okay with that because of the sand issue. Since I often walk early in the morning, my shoes get wet when I walk in the grass. With previous shoes, I'd come home with soaked socks. Not so with these. I like them so much that I bought a second pair to put aside for when these eventually wear out. I never know when a manufacturer will stop making a particular shoe, and it's hard for me to find shoes that I like, so when I find something that works for me, I'll buy a second pair.

These Highland Creek shoes would be fine except they’re not comfortable. They have very sparse insole cushioning and very minimal arch support. Just a very thin sponge type glued in foot bed insole. They seem well made and the styling is okay and I like the versatile treads. They could have spent another $3 to design in a decent insole. Sadly they’re not comfortable so I’m returning them.

I love these shoes and wear them for work. My first pair last me almost 2 years. I purchased a new/replacement pair in April 2023 and today at work the front toe area blew out while I was walking around the job sight. I’m out side my return window but would appreciate if there was any information on a warranty or replacement policy outside of the Amazon return policy. Going from almost 2 years to only 3 months of use on a pair of shoes is absurd.

I have had several pairs of this style hiking shoe and have found them to be more comfortable than any other shoes I have owned. These are no exception. That in addition to the attractiveness of the shoes make for the perfect combination.

This is my second pair of Highland hikers. I hike easy to moderate trails and they work fine. They fit good and break in quickly.
