This faux leather whip/flogger is 23 inches long from fully extended wrist loop to the business end. The handle is wrapped in this braid of faux leather, likely a wooden handle, thicker padding/braid by the ends of the handle than the middle, about 3 layers over each end. Handle is bite-able, not hard on the teeth. Wrist loop is just braid and feels flimsier because of it, would be nice to have cord or two of material inside the weave; the loop is also small for big hands to fit through. The faux leather is very light, there's not enough weight behind the strands to impart much impact so it's not thuddy at all, it's all sharp sting. Even if you wind up and absolutely hit someone with this, if you hit over clothes of any kind impact will disperse and you'll just get sound with very little impact. All effect is in the ends of the strands, if you strike and try to wrap around lets say a wrist or leg, it will diminish the sting from sharp sting to dull sting. If you try to spin it up, the strands will twist/spiral up and concentrate the strike but with less energy than simply going for a straight flat strike. There's a lot of sting, nice sound when it connects but not overly loud. I'm not seeing welts with hard hits, just a lot of sensation. I'm not sure how to classify it but I feel it's more for sensation than impact, someone blindfolded probably would think they're getting marked up but you could stay a long time over an area and not have much to show for it afterwards. I want more in the handle and wrist loop but this seems to hold a special particular place in the toolbox. ... show more

this thing is cheap and not the product that should be used for flogging. Now this is only be a decoration on the wall. I would be embarrassed to have thing in my hand or even have it used on me.
